NARRATIVE:
Jan. 23, 2015 South Africa. Annette was the most excited about this trip. She loved the wilderness and loved animals so this trip was meant for her. The landscape was beautiful and mostly untouched since it was a National park. But the further we got away from home the distance decay was starting to kick in and we were kind of lost. The first two countries super Spanish and Annette and Missael both spoke Spanish so it was easy to read things, maps, and communicate. But coming in not really knowing much got a safari. The guide spoke English so we were able to comprehend everything. When we got on the tour bus to start the safari, Kevin was scared because he thought that being the tallest Caucasian,he might stand out to the animals. Missael wanted to stay in the hotel, Annette was the only one who wanted to go on the trip, but she still made everyone go. When they started the tour and started encountering the first few wild animals they were excited but somewhat scared. They thanked God that zoom was invented so that they can take the pictures from afar. They were surprised at how the cultural landscape had changed for the animals, because they would know that we were there, watch us, follow us, but they weren’t scared of us. The safaris have given South Africa a huge amount of success, with people coming from around the world to watch what they have been seeing in their own backyards for years. It has given them a lot of success economically, and has gained support to preserve the national parks from around the world. It is something they are very proud of because they give you an experiment of a lifetime, that only few places can offer. When the tour was finally over, we headed back to the hotel. The hotel was marvelous it was all centralized on the beautiful landscape and did little to harm it kept it very natural.
