With a taste of things to come, our first camp breakfast was at 6am and the truck trundled off as planned just before 7am. We were extremely impressed that a group of almost 30 people can pack up and go so quickly and on time. In that respect it seems a pretty good group of people, although there are one or two characters who no doubt will try people's patience in days to come. We had an 8 hour drive today which went quite quickly although the lack of air-con on the truck is not ideal with 40C temperatures. Our destination was the banks of the Orange River which forms the border between South Africa and Namibia. We pitched our tent, had a swim in the river, although strong currents stopped it being a relaxing dip, and finished the day sweating buckets wishing we had air-con in our tent (you may laugh but we did have this - and a 4 poster bed - in our tent on a safari holiday a couple of years ago).
