Franschmhoek pass
over the top with buksie Hi, we arived at a beutifull park 20 km otherside of Clan william called Ronde berg resort, 0n the Buls hoek dam, what a beutiful park, lovely green lawns, good kleen ablutions and the most buetiful few. thay have a little shop that supplys the basics, a hall with built in braai, big screen T V, and a pub. there are a couple of caravan sites with private ablutions and kitchen, very neatly done, the manager and his daughter run the place to the highest standerds i have seen in a long time, extreemly helpfull and very pleasant people, will post some pics of the place.
Well we have had our bit of exitement again, you all know i thrive on that, well we left my brothers place in Gansbaai after a lovely week there and moved up to Elands Bay, what a dissapointment after Riverside in Klein brak, no maintenance at all, over grown hedges, very sandy and i had to use the ladies loo as a toilet in the mens was broken and flooding the place.
While there buksietjie s voltage regulater packed up and we were stranded without transport and no spares availeble,so packed up after 3 days and
off to Clan william, we stopped at a flee market in town for a boerie roll and Wanda noticed the a frame bracket on buksietjie was bent at a strange angle, we drove slowly down the main road and i decided to get out and check how serious the damege was, i wasnt even out the van when a man came up to to tell me the a frame had broken of and he har a tire and exhaust fitmant centre write across the road, well we pulled in and he did a repair job that will be able to tow the clann william dam wall down, and only charged me R100.00 as he velt i need the money for feul, graet guy.I managed to get a voltage regulator and we decided to head for spring bok but buksietjie had other ideas, we got 20 km outside clann willia and there was a park on the side of the road, well i stopped to have a look, i got out of the van and noticedbuksietjie s right back wheel was olmost on fire, the diff oil was boiling and runing down the wheel, well we moved into the park and
are still here after a week. The manager came to see what the problem was and told me to park the car in a garage were thy keep a trackter and said i could do the repairs there, what a helpfull guy, DANKIE EMIL, we found the wheel bearing had gone and coocked every thing in sight, Emil drove me to town and i had to order new bearings, seals and brake shoes, well without Emil s kind assistance i dont know wat i would have done, Great park and great people.
We are now going to port nollith, will keep you updated on our next exiting trip, cheers Nick and Wanda.
