This morning we got up at about 7am. Before going out for a drive we had a coffee with Amarula and some rusks. This morning we were going to the other side of the nature reserve. The strange thing with this game reserve is that to get to the other side, we had to exit at the gate and then enter again. The gate at the other side was locked with a combination padlock, we were given the code on check-in yesterday.

The drive to the other side took us about twenty minutes. We entered this gate and walked towards the Croke Hide. This morning we saw many birds, butterflies and various dragonflies. The Croke Hide had also been burnt down by the bushfire. We then walked to the Dabchick Hide. This one had not been burnt down. We sat in here for a while. It was a great view of the floodplain.

Paul and Neil went for a walk, while Claudine and I sat in the hide reading my trashy gossip magazines. We also saw a variety of birds from up here. After about two hours of being in this area of the reserve, we decided to go

back to camp.

At our camp site we ate lunch and then had a very lazy afternoon. I had a refreshing cool shower, did some reading, had an afternoon nap and started drinking as the sun set. We were going to go for a walk or drive, but in the end we didn't.

Once again we all pitched in and made an amazing dinner. This evening it was us and again two other sites occupied. We spent the evening sitting under the stars.
