http://blogs.reuters.com/faithworld/2013/06/18/guestview-terrorism-and-religion-in-nigeria/

The article was about religion in Nigeria. The article also focuses on the terrorism. Cardinal John Onayiyekan, author of article, looks at the reasons why the people are fighting, finds one of the ways people are fighting and calls the attacks "killings of innocent people with no logic". In addition to looking at the problems, he discusses ways to solve the problems within the community. He identifies with the Christian community so it hits close to home in a sense.

The main religions in Nigeria are Muslims and Christians. Most of northern Nigeria is Muslim and southern Nigerian is mostly christian, the middle is mixed. Although Nigeria has crime going on, the people of the country see an ongoing trend of terrorism. Terrorist have bombed governments, Islamic countries and even churches. The people who take part in these crimes think that everyone should be a Muslim, so in their minds it's okay to commit these acts. The Muslim attacks really effect the communities getting together, it breaks a trust that hasn't been made yet. In the article it states " have positive attitude to Islam in general, so that along with our brother Muslims, we can jointly face the challenge of Islamic Terrorism. It means seeking common grounds, stressing the things that bind us together, and emphasizing what we hold as shared religious values. " this shows efforts are being made and times will change ,but it won't be over night
