Places where human activity is in sync with nature. Where tourists are more travelers than conquerors. Where life is totally different than my own. Where I can once again be blown away by the vastness of diver... Read Full Entry

A cool guy who thankfully didn't know we were standing just a few yards down wind. His horn is cut every 5 years by local rhino rangers in an effort to dissuade poaching.

These elephants can stand on two feet to reach their food. They can go 2 days without water and compared to other elephants of Africa, these will conserve the trees by only pulling down branches, rather than the entire tree.

In Etosha, when a lion approaches, all creatures scatter and give them priority. This gal was obviously famished as she lumbered slowly to the water hole

Visiting Namibia would be an adventure
I have this dream about one day visiting Namibia and go an a really long adventure trip. I have seen so many wonderful photos from odd, fascinating but often very remote places in Namibia and I want to see them all. I expect that I would need to go on 4WD tours to be able to see may of them, but it would be totally worth it. /Ake
