This morning we woke up very early, due to the sounds of many birds chirping away outside. We went back to sleep for a few hours. Just after 7am the male maid arrived to clean up. He spoke no English. Paul and I decided to get up and go for a walk. It was overcast and it was drizzling. Paul looked for birds and I took photos.
Forty minutes later we returned to have breakfast. The maid was still there, he was pretty slow, we had not made that much of a mess! For breakfast I enjoyed yummy tropical fruit (mangoes and bananas) that I bought from the market yesterday. The mangoes were especially delicious- sweet and juicy and the bananas were like ordinary ones.
I now wanted to try a coconut. It was Paul's job to open it. He used a screw driver to make a hole in one of the three small circles at an end. I then poured the coconut water into a glass and shared it with Paul – it was very nice and there was not enough of it in a coconut. He then used an axe to crack it open and into a

We then decided to go on an adventure! At about 11am we got in the car and hit the sandy track. Instead of turning right towards town, we turned left just to see where we would end up. Along the way we saw pineapples growing, this was interesting for me as I thought they grew on a large palm tree, not individual plant growing on the ground. We drove past many people who happily waved back to us. As expected there were many coconut palms everywhere, papaya trees, fields of corns and thatched huts. I was amazed by the size of the mangoes trees. I would love to have one in my backyard. Occasionally we stopped and got out to look for birds.
We drove through a few small villages. In the villages there were a few little market stalls and shops the size of a small garden shed. There were lots

We stayed on the main road, there weren't any other roads to turn on to. After about 1pm we arrived in a small town that seem deserted. Here there was an amazing church, an unexpected sight in the middle of nowhere on a dead end road, a hospital, soccer field and convent – one for nuns and one for brothers.
After driving around this town, we turned around and headed back to our chalet. During our adventure we only saw a few cars which were full of people hitching rides.
We arrived back at 2:30. It was time for lunch and then we had an afternoon nap.
Later in the afternoon at 5:30, we made a fire so that it would be ready for our dinner later on. Paul and I went for a walk along the lake and enjoyed the last light of the day. We saw a couple of birds and a boat sailing in the lake. It was a short walk and when we returned we prepared everything for dinner. As our dinner slowly cooked on the

After dinner we sat on the verandah and played 30 Seconds. Even though we had a very relaxing day, we were pretty tired. So just before 10, when the power goes out, we called it a night. I also got some things ready for tomorrow and we were having an early start.
