Wonky Bar
One of the supports had collapsed (before we got there, ha ha!) and it was held up with makeshift scaffolding. Wobbly floor not good for Rach's vertigo. Welcome to the Twilight Zone We travelled along the length of the lake, catching glimpses of the shimmering water between the hills, down to the southern tip. On route we stopped by a copse of rubber trees. You score the bark of the tree and it oozes a rubbery sap (that looks a bit like snot) which they collect and process to create all manner of rubber things! We arrived at Wheelhouse Marina, we seemed completely deserted. Apparently there was a cichlid farm nextdoor which provides aquariums worldwide with the pretty little fishies. We stepped through a gap in the wall and it was like the Twilight Zone! This zombie woman guided us around all the fish tanks, randomly feeding the fish. We were a bit thirsty and asked where we could buy some water. She took us to a small hut and knocked on the door. It was really bizzare because there were a small bunch of posh English guys having afternoon tea and a barman in a dickie bow. It was like shabby colonial chic. We escaped and eventually our campsite wonky bar opened. One support column had collapsed on New Year's Eve but apparently it didn't stop
Sunset from the bar
Enjoying another nice sunset from a bar stool the party! Now, the one side is held up with dodgy scaffolding. It was fun but slightly disorientating for Rach with her vertigo.
