This morning before sunrise we were already in the game park. We observd nature at it's finest as we watched a pride of lions feasting on a cape buffalo. At one point there were 15 lions in view and we were less than 100 feet away in the safety of the safari van. Though the tents we stayed in were on the primative side all had an amazing time viewing many animals. Giraffes, hippos, wildebeasts, hyenas, zebras to name a few.

Another exciting moment was the bull elephant who thought we were too close and trumpeted at us. As his ears were back our driver quickly manuvered out of there!

Our driver, Edward was also able to skillfully cross a flooded creek with the help of some Masai boys pushing us through the knee deep mud. The 230 miles took six hours and had us sitting on the edge of our seats.

Now back in Nairobi and enjoying hot showers and electricity, we will begin the trip to Kakamega in the morning.
