We did our normal Christmas in Nairobi, dropping into the orphanage in the morning, and then opening presents in the afternoon. This year we even managed to be social with friends and had an amazing feast at my friend Katies house.

The highlight for me this year was watching Hayley and Emma interact with the babies at the orphanage. Normally Hayley and Emma are both jealous of anyone I hold, and stick very close to mum. This year Hayley was getting toys for the babies and making sure if they cried that they were ok. Emma even ventured off my lap to play with some of the totos. As we left the orphanage to feast, and open presents, we were told one of the babies had passed away early in the morning at the hospital. What do I say? To die without a family . . . . on Christmas, I’m crying as I write this. Life can be so cruel. Maybe that’s why it has taken me so long to write our Christmas blog, it was an emotional day after that. There are no words.

We ended December by moving house. Murray has a new job (my job fell through – work permit issues), new house, newish start, 2013 is a year for change 😊 even if we are in the same Country, Town and ok . . . . suburb. Here is to 2013!
