Afya and Medical Equipment for the Kasasule Rural Health Centre

We discovered a great asset for supplies and equipment for the Health Clinic, Kasasule, which we support together with our partners in the three Nairobi Presbyteries (North, East and Central). The Afya Foundation, housed in a huge warehouse in Yonkers, NY, gathers equipment and supplies from New York area hospitals and other facilities and has them available for programs like ours to take to health facilities abroad. When our Kenyan partners were here in May, we loaded six huge suitcases with such items as EKG monitors, Blood Pressure monitors, blood pressure cuffs, microscopes, etc. and the items went back to Kenya as checked luggage with our returning partners. We will be loading five or six large duffel bags (donated by L.L. Bean, through a friend who was formerly part of our congregation and part of a trip to Kenya with our partnership!) again to take with us in July!
