Tea for tea
Tiwi Beach, South coast 5 school terms since we left Kenya. My dear colleague and friend, Batty, was getting married at the beach and we were not going to miss it! We managed a quick catch up with a few friends in Nairobi over the Easter long weekend. Celebrating with LVC on the 4th anniversary of the church plant we helped out with. Tears of joy flowed during the service, mainly from me 😊
In Nairobi we stayed with 2 friends who have both recently relocated back to Kenya. The Phayres and Aubreys. We enjoyed spending time with both families and managed to see a few others who were around. Strangely enough I didn't take many photos. We spent a lovely morning with the Florah, Osean, Mildred, Hayley, Lillian and Charlotte. These ladies are family and it was lovely to see their children growing strong and the interactions between our children and them. Thank you to those that we saw and apologies that we weren't in Nairobi long enough.
Then we were off to the wedding at Tiwi beach, South coast. What an amazing venue, we managed to find the star fish on the island near the reef, and enjoyed the beautiful Kenyan
coast. What a stunning part of the world. We really relaxed and for a brief moment, we were back "home" in our familiar Kenya life.
Batty looked beautiful as she married her man Chris, so much fun to be part of the celebrations. So nice to see many former colleagues and reminisce over our Kenya days. The kids have declared we must visit Kenya every year. We had such a lovely time as you can see from the photos we did manage to take.
An emotional trip, where I often realised I was so in the moment, I forgot to take photos. Most unlike me.
Kwaheri Kenya, till next time x
Miriam
