Day before departure

Day before departure. Time to take the Malarone - everyone ringing me up and telling me to stay safe!! Having just watched the DVD of the 2005 East African Safari, keeping the car in one piece is a sure way to finish mid field!! Carnage on first few days as "red mist" descends - given my "prior form" in Prologues, perhaps I should stay away from the wheel for a few days but there again Oggy might drive like a girl so..........

Arrive Mombassa Wed night to meet the new Kenyan Service crew - Jude reckons we might find the car stripped and on blocks! Have no such fears! Only worry I have about car is that it might be a bit low - time will tell. Engine is as sweet as can be, have tried to build a "Hummer" but it is a 1971 Falcon that sold new for $1700 so can't expect too much. Not the ideal car but probably the only one with air con and a car fridge in the back!!! Side windows are clean for visibility! Have 30 tyres, 8 shocks, three front ends - anything other major that breaks, sees us on Safari.

Plot is to take it easy - who knows?
