Should you read this before 10:20pm, EST on Tues. Oct. 14th., please ask for traveling mercies as I head home to Georgia.

SUNDAY: With 8 other members of the group and myself, we traveled from our hotel, Sun Lodge in Accra to a 9:30am Sunday morning worship session at Freeman Memorial Methodist Church in the James Town area of Accra, or a part of the old colonial side. We were warmly greeted by one of the women leaders and lay minister, Mr. Bannerman as we came down from the van. Because it was the 2nd. Sunday, the services were in both English and Ga, a local language of the area, also it was Communion Sunday. We were escorted to reserved seats up front. The church is a modernly built open seating church with a balcony around 3 sides, which is where the choirs and orgnist were seated. We were introduced to the parishiners and the history of the Church Twinning relationship with my home church, Greenforest Community Baptist Church of Decatur, GA was shared by the Very Rev. Quentry. Once called up, I brought greetings on behalf of my pastor, Rev. Dennis Mitchell and the Greenforest Church family. Donations were presented from the Greenforest family and our group, "Private Collection" as well as some women clothings, a bunch of over the counter meds and 50 bags containing school supplies and goodies for students. We individually introduced ourselves and the names of our church. At approx. 1:15, our transport was ready to take us back to the hotel. I stayed behind to meet with the women of the church, where they presented a project for Greenforest to help with. Additionally, the Right Rev. also presented a printed proposal for a water purification project and....they were asking for support from their twin church in the US. These proposals for projects will be presented to the Min. of Missions at Greenforest, for consideration. Finally, where there,
75 pen-pal forms were distributed for filling, if interested in writing to twin church members.
Mr. Bannerman volunteered to transport me to the hotel, from church. I stayed with the Bannerman family during my last visit to Ghana in 2000.

I joined the group late, for dinner at a popular Accra restaurant about 15 minutes from the hotel.

MONDAY - Final shopping day for the group. At 7:30 am Nada & I went to have our hair braided. I was very pleased with my new twisted style. A final return to the Cultural Center yielded some good last minute deals and bargains. Gloria D. & I attended a very nice dinner at a private home, the Sams family, whom I met in 2000 through Rev. S. Holston co-founder of Church Twinning, Int. 5 women from the church also dined with us. I enjoyed fried fish, jollof rice, and for dessert: fruit with chocolate ice cream on top. The fellowship was very good.

TUESDAY - At 5:30am our luggage was taken from our doors, to be packed on the van to take us to the Kotoka Accra Int'l. Airport. We are headed home....see you all soon.
