sore throat, fever, aches, etc...SUCKS when all you have is one really uncomfortable bed & pillow. anyways...really quick updates...

TUESDAY NIGHT:
nothing exciting except laundry & played spit with kim before going to bed at 8:45pm and feeling like crap all night.

WEDNESDAY:
classes: religious practices & development of education. nothing great except some stuff we learned about witch craft. there are some witch craft villages up north, but no worries, we wont be visiting them. unfortunately i dont have a lot of time so this will be short but im putting pictures up. go to www.snapfish.com & i think you can type in ashley lombardo & the album is ghana part 1. there are only a few & i probably wont have time to edit them until i get home, so hopefully they're okay for now. enjoy.
went to the bookstore after class. bought some more postcards & 2 books. "in my father's land: a song to the child" by Star Nyaniba Hammond & a children's book called "sosu's call" by Meshack Asare. um lets see what else...we leave tomorrow at 5am to kumasi to stay at the game reserve. everyone is very excited to see the animals. wahooo!! should be an awesome time minus the ride there. hopefully the roads aren't very bumpy. plans for tonight include: resting, packing, dinner, catching up on my journal & hopefully staying awake to socialize tonight with more of the students. there is a group of 28 here from all different parts of africa, doing internships with the UN. everyone has said they are all very intelligent & worldly individuals, so some good conversation would be nice. not that i dont get that from the people im with, but sometimes they talk without thinking first & end up sounding unintelligent & its frustrating. everyone but kim & i are democrats & dad like you say they are wayyyyy out in left field. i hate talking about politics, gun control & all that stuff with them. i try to avoid conversations like that.
i have finally experienced what its like to be a minority & be judged. everyone does it, judges other, whether its intentional or not, but its different being on the other side. people do not like us. i dont know if they think we're snotty rich white americans (obviously i'm far from snotty & rich!!!) but its interesting. the girl at this particular internet cafe is not friendly at all. i dont know if they get frustrated because we dont know things or aren't familiar with their culture or what, but its interesting. i think some people in our group are happy that we're in this position & want us to experience it worse...but that can be discussed in private conversation when i get back. anyways...hopefully the pictures will finish shortly...wish me luck traveling. we will be gone for 12 or 13 days i believe. not exactly sure, my schedule is back in the room. i'll try to get on a computer a few times when traveling, if not i will before we return home on aug. 2nd. hope all is well at home.

mark-i have not forgotten you, happy?! haha.

oh & i am returning home, so dont worry. but at the same time, i will be returning to africa eventually.
