We took a poll of our fellow travellers while we were still in Cairo. I promised I would post the answers later. It was interesting to hear all the different points of view.
Favorite Shopping Experience:

Most Interesting Fact Learned
1.) How people date, the joining of families, etc - Scott

3.) The compulsory army service, and that anyone can be an Imam - Shannon
4.) City of the Dead - Tere and Susan
5.) That there are 97 pyramids in Egypt, not just the ones at Giza - Nicole
6.) That I have to tip the bagger when I go to the grocery store - Will
7.) That there is a language of horn-beeping in Cairo - everyone
Most Surprising Thing about Egypt (assorted, not associated by name)
• all the rubble, not being cleared, for construction
• not being harassed
• the modern hinges on that fold-up bed the pharaohs used
• the state of the donkeys
• that they always give 2.5%!o(MISSING)f their income to the poor
• that silver is more valuable than gold
