The Nile, Marriage - Day 39

On the last evening we were due to go for another felucca ride on the Nile but there was no wind so it turned into a motorboat ride - it was very pleasant drifting down the river looking at the village scenes and the birds and the other boats.

The young boatman told me that several old European women (much older than me and not as beautiful he said!) come out to Egypt and marry ‘small’ Egyptian men (after much thought we decided he meant young) and give them houses and cars and money. Chris thought he was lining me up for his young brother who was helping him on the boat!
