It was crowded at Ramses the Second’s birthday bash, which was strange as up until then it was Hatshepsut who ruled the roost. Wherever I went it was Hatshepsut this, and Hatshepsut that. The Egyptian Pound is rather weak now, so how much you end up paying can be different now versus the future. At the moment in Egyptian Pounds, the average entree fee is between 60 and 100 Egyptian Pounds (sometimes lower, sometimes higher). I am staying in budget hotels where I am paying between 100 to 150 Egyptian Pounds for a night for a room with a private bathroom. Street food is around 10 to 20 Egyptian Pounds, a meal in a local restaurant between 15 and 35 Egyptian Pounds. Bus rides are 20 for short rides, to 150 for longer ones, depending on the kind of bus. I have a budget of 20 euro's a day (comes down to between 370 to 400 Egyptian Pounds a day) and I can do everything for that... Easily.
