Thats hello in Arabic by the way! See - i'm starting to learn the language already!!
So now coming to you from Aswan, 800km south of cairo - much nicer than Cairo coz its just a small town so it's nowhere near as manic and busy and the people are even friendlier! We got here on an epic train journey which took 12 hours, im still recovering from that journey now! The heat doesn't make it better, this close to the equator it's very hot in the sun, but we're coping so far!
Have done a few cool things here, had a ride on a pretty damn ugly camel into the desert to see a deserted monastry. That journey has made the sore legs from the train journey even worse as they are bloddy awkward to sit on! Today we've have been to The Great Temples of Abu Simbel which are two rock-cut temples by Lake Nassar - to be honest they are almost as amazing as the Pyramids! And considering i'm not a history person for me to say temples are good must mean they are really good! The detail both inside and out is stunning - especially
Abu Simbel again!
Because it's so cool, i thought i'd put another one on! Look how big the statues are! considering how long ago they were made! Tonight we're going to a Nubian village on some random island in the middle of the Nile for dinner which should be interesting!! And tomorrow we board a felucca for a 3 day cruise up the Nile - doing absolutely nothing but wasting the days away!
Still hoping everyone is well, heard you've been hit by snow!! No chance of that here!
