Had a good sleep and were up at 7am to the most amazing view! Took a moment to enjoy our veranda and view of the sea/beach before we headed to breakfast! Had a buffet breakfast and then had our optional cruise boat excursion which we didnt expect to have. Sherif organized this boat cruise so that we could go snorkelling and so the group could actually experience the Red Sea before they left today for Cairo.
It was actually chilly on the boat, but nice in the sun so everyone picked out different sheltered areas on the boat to sun tan. We stopped at 2 snorkel spots which were both wicked! The water was freezing but most people braved it. I stuck right with the snorkeling guide in the water as he fed the fish so they swarmed him and he kept showing me a bunch of really cool fish and taking my camera deep to try and capture pics for me. We also were surrounded by a ton of purple jellyfish which were apparently not stinging fish so we were bumping into them and all. The guide actually got me to pick one up to prove it! The second spot the water was pretty rough but i was getting better at diving low to check things out. Saw a sting ray. I was then freezing and couldnt warm up but some of the others then jumped off the boat & went swimming. We had a yummy lunch on the boat but then some other crazy boat rammed right into our boat. We couldnt believe it! They smashed out boat in completely, windows shattered & gglass everywhere. Luckily nobody was injured and our boat wasnt going to sink so we were ok.
After the boat excursion the group continues straight from the hotel on a 6 hour bus ride back to Cairo but thankfully Mark & I are not doing that. We chose to extend our vacation on the red sea which everyone in the group was very jealous of. When we got off the boat the group only had 15 minutes to grab their things and meet on the bus to leave. Mark and I all of a sudden had an amazing feeling of freedom as we didnt have to pack and we had booked an extra night at this same hotel so we just crashed on the beach for 15 minutes until we had to say goodbye to them! We went to the lobby and everyone was already on the bus. Hugged Sherif goodbye and they all waved goodbye to us as the bus pulled away. What a weird feelign to have the tour end, the group continuing on but at the same time so amazing as we got to go to the beach and chill in the sun for the rest of the afternoon. We then went to the amazing restaurant "Grenada" that some of them went to the night before and absolutely loved it! We had shisha, a bottle of wine and I ordered a steak followed by chocolate-banana pancakes for dessert! What a way to end the tour! We stayed at this restaurant for hours and hours.
For our next adventure, we are headed to Sharm El Sheik then to Dahab for another 5 days of rest at a nice resort. Plan to snorkel, sun tan and not do much else but relax before we have to head home!
