Arriving at Cairo's Int'l Airport Oct. 2006 This is my most recent trip to Egypt, October of 2006. You can buy your Visa at the airport for like $35 usd, There are many options for lodging in Cairo all of which are VERY reasonable ($2 - $10 +++) a night. It was during Ramadan the holy holiday for this part of the world. I arrived here from Amsterdam via Switzerland and planned on staying only 14 days but spent almost 21 days instead. This is my second trip to Egypt. The Pyramids are an AWESOME sight to see if not but only once in your lifetime, its my second. If you come here get a ticket to see the bottom of the small pyramid you will climb down a long shaft (get your mind out of the gutters) lololol where you 'll reach a large set of rooms and you'll see where several mummies were found. The best restaurant for authentic Egyptian food is called "Felfella" its near the Nile Hilton, any taxi driver will take you there for less then US$3, its a reasonable price and clean amidst all the clutter and dust of central Cairo. Out at the Pyramids in Giza extremely outgoing towards me. They wanted to learn to speak English and made a point not to speak any "Politics" as one of the Egyptian guys told me during a conversation. I made lots of friends in Cairo too. ...............
