This morning we had another relaxing start to the day. After packing up our tent, we slowly drove towards the gate. The distance was 13kms. Along the way we did not see a lot, but we were very happy with what we have seen on our trip. At Khutse Pan 1 we saw some springbok and wildebeest.

Just before we left the reserve a red hartebeest ran out across the track in front of us. It was an interesting drive back. I enjoyed observing how the local people live- round, mud thatched houses, lots of people riding in the back of utes, ute trays being pulled along by donkeys, cows wandering the road, boys playing soccer, safe sex messages and barbers running their business from a tin shack.

It was about a two and a half hour drive from the reserve to Gaborone. Here we stopped for a few groceries and then went through the Kopfontein border. It was a short drive from the border to Madikwe Game Reserve. Once in the reserve it took us an hour to get back to our lodge.
