can we afford Cuba?

we're trying to understand if we can afford to go to Cuba and how long for...

We would like to go to Cuba in January (2013) and we are not sure how long to go for and as a consequence on what budget. The initial idea was to go for 2 weeks. Then we realized that we don't really know how many places we should visit, is it the case that visit one city and you've seen them all? Is it mainly about the countryside or one week in Havana represent the core of the cuban experience, we wouldn't mind some seaside time but what we're really interested in is the culture and the people. Any idea how much will it cost us to spend two weeks in Cuba? We're very easygoing and hostels or spare rooms will suit us but I guess the budget depends on how much we travel around the country so... is it worth traveling around for two weeks or a week in one place such as Havana will be enough?

Friends of mine are going there every year. They like cigars and whiskey. They always tell me they find really cheap apartment to rent. I went there some ten years ago and it was really really cheap. If you want some beach time you can probably find all inclusive for the almost nothing at the end of Jan. Just be careful what you book for and how you pay.

have fun

Of course you can afford Cuba. Check out what travel rewards you can get and use it in your travel. Here's how <snip>

We are heading to Cuba in a few months and plan on seeing several towns. Havana, Trinidad and Santiago are a must.

We are spending two weeks, we've been told by other travelers 3 would be better. It certainly depends on the pace you wish to travel. Our budget is not set yet as we are currently looking at various places to stay. It is our understanding many budget accommodations are available.

You may want to read these blogs and write them to ask some questions as they have already gone and returned where we are still planning. We did receive good advice from both of them.
