I've been Following
Katha Turbostern for a few months. She has been a TBer since 2007. At that time she dedicated herself to becoming a world class hang glider until she had a bad accident (lift just stopped) in Australia and spent months in the hospital (both in Australia and then back in her native Germany) with multiple operations for broken bones and then physical therapy. She wisely decided to retire from hang gliding and took up triathlon even before her bones were fully healed. She just got her PhD in psychology and moved to Singapore. She continues to travel to hang gliding (not as a competitor) and triathlon competitions, and goes to many psychology symposiums, combining business with pleasure. I nominate her for BoW.
Reply to this Bob I 2nd your nomination of Katha. Her blogs are interesting and she seems like a real survivor.
Reply to this I would like to nominate
Tobykatz
Really enjoyed readig this new blogger, made me chuckle and I look forward to keeping up with them.
Reply to this I'd like to nominate Soicowboy Mark Erratt,
Soicowboy who has a great combination of historical context, personal adventures and fine photos.
Reply to this I'll second Soicowboy and Tobykatz...although I would like to see a few more blogs from them and blogs with photos would be even better 😊
Reply to this I'll third Soicowboy and Tobykatz. Soicowboy seems to go long periods between blogs, but when he puts them out, they're gems. I agree with RennDrew that Tobykatz could use more photos--maybe someone should suggest that to him. My friend TraceSuri recently published a fine blog on Hats of Bolivia, but it didn't make it to the front page because she didn't have 500 words, so I clued her it. There's so much newbies don't know.
Reply to this I'd like to nominate another traveler now in South America, Robyn Voigt
robyngary robyngary. These kiwis have amazing adventures hiking, biking and visiting jungles and canyons. As well, they participate in cultural offerings--museums, cooking classes, wine tastings, etc. I started reading their current blog and ended up reading all of their SA ones.
Reply to this I would like to 2nd the nomination for robyngary. Great blogs.
Reply to this For many of us, planning the trip is half the fun. Well, I've just found a new Blogger
mrshicksbb who exhibits OCD behavior in this regard. This she readily admits! She has planned a whirlwind two week tour of Europe that plans each day to the hour. For her efforts, I nominate her for BoW. I'm anxiously awaiting the results...although she hasn't scheduled any time for writing her blogs.
Reply to this Thanks Tara, but my awkward punctuation didn't make it clear that my comment was meant only for Tobykatz. I'm glad Mark has blogged again!
Reply to this I would like to third the nomination of Soicowboy. Thanks for finding him.
Reply to this I'd like to nominate some new bloggers for blogger of the week.
