Hey all i\'m a Canadian wondering where the best place for me to pick up some american dollars for a trip through Africa. I do have a stop in the U.S. and Europe before i get to Africa. Any help would be great. Thanks Reply to this

Hello Derek 😊

I dont know where the best place is, but be sure to get notes that are in very good condition. Otherwise you might find exchange offices and banks in Africa getting snooty about your notes being too old for them.

My guess is, that the US would be the least expensive place to get US dollars.

Hi Deeker
I have found that BNS usually has the best rates in Canada. They can also give you euros. Never been to Africa but I would almost think that Euros would be more accepted than US$.

Scotiabank as well is a good place to exchange CAD for USD. When I travel, I always keep some US and Euros with me because most places will take them. Reply to this
