Hello and welcome to a new installment of my blog. It’s been a while and to say we’ve seen a lot in the mean time would be to say that Australia is quite large. Because of that, I’ll split the trip into two parts and make a separate entry for the second part. To take you back to where I left off last time, we had just finished 6 weeks travelling from Port Douglas in North Queensland to Broome in North West Australia. Our companions for the trip, Natalie and Manu, had left for Adelaide and France respectively and we were awaiting the arrival of Roy, one of my friends from back home. I picked Roy up at the Airport (a daunting three minute drive from our hostel) on the 29th of November and we set ... read more

Our destination for this evening is Eagle Bluff where we can camp free for one night because we asked for permission. There's a look out point there and we ... read more

Today we woke up to a magnificent sight - a rainbow! After snapping a few pictures, we packed up camp, had our breakfast and were on our way further north. Our first stop was a magnificent spot called Eagle's Nest. It's a little lookout spot along the coast atop some magnificent gorges. We then made a stop in the town of Kalbarri where some of the smarter members of our group purchased bug hats. I had brought two bandanas to use as my fly protection, and they proved to be quite effective, although slightly visually imparing. We then headed to Kalbarri National Park and went for a hike through the Murchison River gorge. This was our first experience with our newfound enemis - THE FLIES!! They were so bad we kept our hike brief and ... read more
