So I have been back in Australia for 9 days and I’m loving it! Melbourne has had a heat wave up until today and its reached 34-37c everyday so I’ve managed to top up my tan a bit however the temperature has dropped today.. typical crazy Melbourne weather. I needed to find a job and somewhere to live asap so as soon as I arrived in Melbourne after a 22 hour trip I was straight on the wi-fi in federation square looking for places and jobs. Still no luck on the job front, after being unsuccessful for a role I knew I could do in a 5* hotel I have resigned myself to thinking that maybe I should just look for another ‘backpacker’ job rather than a real and serious job, even being back a week ... read more

So it's coming to an end, the week that just flew past. I'm losing track of time and days. I believe today is Sunday, and tomorrow is Labour day. Today concludes one whole week of being fucked up. It all started last weekend after the girl ended things with me, it's all like it should be though, when you live a life of constant moving and change that is the only constant, and you accept and embrace that fact. You know people will come and people will go. In this case, an awesome girl I met here a few months ago. The romance; an inevitability for me, it seems. As I read the final message that concluded the deal I lit up the spliff I'd been preparing since before we started the talk. The following days ... read more

Hey guys!!! Just thought I would posted a little pre-holiday blog as I’m getting really excited about the couple of days away that Ricky has booked for us!! I have no idea where we are going and although I have made a few guesses, I am familiar with how Ricky normally goes about “surprising” me (it’s usually a genuine surprise!) He has recommended I pack my bikini and walking boots!? I’m just hoping that doesn’t imply they’ve to be wore together….seriously not a good look! I share Ricky’s thought in the “chillout weekend” blog. I am missing so many people and because I haven’t settled into a job yet, it’s really hard to make lastly friendships with many people. Like anything, there are a couple of exceptions and thankfully we have meet some lovely people….Caroline and ... read more

Arrived back home to Melbourne on Christmas morning!!! So my 15 hour flight from LA went by pretty smoothly as I lay back in business class! Fantastic! As I caught up on some Aussie movies and some shut eye before awaking and about 3 hours left until touching down in Melbourne. Although the rude lady and her kids beside me were annoying! Anyway got off the plane virtually first and straight through customs and picked up my bag with no worries. Going through those doors, this was the end of my travels and it was rather bittersweet, as you think of the great times you had overseas and now going back to what was normal for so many years of your life. With it being Christmas morning I decided to wrap myself in some Christmas decorations ... read more

Okay here begins my travel log for 2006. After travelling extensively last year I have decided to take up the opportunity to live in England for 6 months once more and continue to travel also. This doesn't come without trepidation, considering I did do it last year and feel I maybe covering my tracks again. Last year I was lucky enough to live in England, play cricket and work, and in my 5 month stint there I also managed to fly out and visit Turkey, where I saw the battlefields at Gallipoli (something I think most Australians should do) and Portugal. I also visited a fair few places within England, with the added bonus of not living far outside of London meant I could get in there quite regularly. After my time there I did a ... read more
