Day 123, 12/01/12 Hired a free bike today and cycled along Adelaide river and then turned around and cycled the other way to the beach and back to the town. Had a walk around The Botanical Gardens. Got on the train in the evening and Stuart treated us both to the upgrade to a cabin with 2 beds in it. Played cards, ate dinner, read my book and chatted before going to sleep on a moving train. We stopped off at a beach for a lunch-time picnic on route to their house in Silver Sands, Aldinga. The house had a lovely balcony with a stunning view of the beach and you could hear the waves crashing on the shore. Jase and Dunc took Lucy the Labrador for a walk along the beach and then we bought pizza for dinner, where Dunc hilariously ... read more

Introduction This weekend's walk was a new one for us - a visit to the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park - and as we were all recovering from colds, it was a somewhat truncated walk. The basis for our walk was George Driscolls's walk number 35 (p76) in his book 50 real bushwalks around Adelaide. This walk is very suitable for children as it is only mildly undulating.
