After months of lockdowns and travel bans we took advantage of a lull and decided to use a credit that we had with Scenic Tours and take a trip with them to Norfolk Island. Our travel agent could not have been happier and willing to assist someone who was booking, not cancelling, and paying, not asking for a refund. We flew to Sydney the evening before our departure due to timing issues and stayed overnight. Our first Uber ride to the airport. We had to catch the train to Rydges when we arrived at the domestic terminal and there were hardly any people around. We checked in and went down for dinner. It was like being in a ghost town. None of the usual hustle and bustle of people arriving and departing. Complete with masks we ... read more

Keefy here, my first blog. You would think that I would have done this before considering how far I've flown but technology is not my forte. Steve and Kerri can take care of that stuff. Sometimes though I need a bit of me time and I have to unload and let's face it. My experiences are different from theirs. I would like to be on the road again as that's where I am truly happy but Norfolk is interesting for now. Kerri and Steve are working most days managing their resort and this gives me some time to look about and learn a bit about the place. I'll tell you something for nothing it's got its pluses but it also has its minuses. The pluses are the natural beauty and progressive cosmopolitan people. The minuses are ... read more

HI All, Well here we go again..... we came to book in for the first flight and its delayed 2 hours, and won't make our connection to Melbourne.... Hi Everyone, Well today we had a completely free day until 6pm when we went on our last family reunion event. Tell you more about it later! This morning again started with a swim, very beautiful and I am going to miss that when I come home! After returning MrC and I had breakfast, and as MrC was having trouble with his feet we went into town to visit the shoe shop, so now he sports a lovely set of new sandals, and I have some pink thongs from Diana Ferrari! All settled with our feet, we then took off to revisit the things I wanted to re-photograph because of lack of time the first time on the tour, and MrC came along for the ride. First on the list was the giant Moreton Bay fig ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well we are here at last!!!! We were tossed out of our room at the Mercure in Sydney earlier than we wanted this morning because MrC didn’t understand that they assumed if you paid for your room you were on your way out of the hotel….. so MrC being MrC paid our bill up after breakfast so you guessed it we were out of there when we had told them we would like the room til late check out. Seems its one of those chain hotels who is perpetually cleaning changing rooms and then putting guests back in them straight away 24 hours a day. Anyway we sat in the TV room/Business Office room for an hour while we waited for the Airport shuttle bus. While we did that we caught up with lots ... read more
