Its a warm Saturday afternoon as Kanchi and I do some last minute cram-packing! Surely we've forgotten something! Our parents have accompanied us to wish us well, and Im glad that my girlfriend Dani is also here to add some sanity to the whole situation. The day has finally arrived, and after years of false promises we head off to the airport! Tickets in hand, our itinerary (for now) looks a bit like this: - Amsterdam - Munich - Vienna - Leipzig - Berlin - Hamburg - Rome - London - Miami - Carribean - L.A In total we're away for 40 days, so we'll have to see how it all pans out! Parts of our trip we organised prior to departing, however we also left some areas to wing it and make sure we have ... read more

Sashimi at sea, fireworks in the harbour, jumping around to the Sneaky Sound System; there is too much to do to be bored. As this was our last leg in Sydney we wanted to see and do as much as we could in the final few months. We finally moved closer to where the action is, basing ourselves in Randwick in the Eastern Suburbs. Randwick is best known for its race-course. For us the major attraction was convenience, as it is only a 15 minute bus journey to the city centre, where Gregor worked, and less than that to Coogee Beach. Plus the huge and gorgeous Centennial Park is nearby, encouraging Becky to dust off her running shoes and get fit. Coogee is great! Gregor enjoyed many a night out at the Coogee Bay and the ... read more

OK, so the cricket is drawing to a close (with just the 20/20 left) and OJ and Chris have to finally fill their days with more civilised activities than chanting and Aussie bating. However, there was one final opportunity in the Barmy Army 'End of Tour Party'. Probably one of the most unique night outs for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was suitably named, 'The Retro Bar', which meant that it was flooded with Hen Parties, and brides that didn't quite understand the committment of marriage - I guess it was like being in Butlins. Anyway, this was to be the least of our problems. The prerequisite of having to wear Barmy Army clothing to qualify for free entry, came back to haunt us. Local Aussie stunners saw the Barmy Army badge as a potential ... read more

Chris and OJ unfortunately got split up on the plane journey to Sydney. OJ cried and Chris was happy. So, we arrived in Sydney with mixed emotions and the weather finally on our side. It was a scorcher! We had New Years Eve to look forward to. The only downside, was the fact we might as well have been in Asia. We were trapped outside the Sydney Opera house 10 hours before the fireworks. Needless to say, we were ill-prepared. No iPod, PSP, sleeping bag, pillow, cushion, suncream... all in all, an extremely uncomfortable experience. 10 hours later and we still felt as if we were in Bangkok. Unbelievable. Apart from the lack of Australian natives and women, it was a memorable fireworks display. Over within 15 minutes, but a worthwhile wait. A new year, another ... read more

Hey there and Happy 2007! So Christmas in Sydney...one word...weird! Had such a good time over Christmas, lots of partying of course and met even more new people! Had to work pretty much every day aswell which wasn't so good though! Christmas Day started with a glass of bubbly at 7am and opening all the lovely gifts I was sent, aw aren't my family good! From the flat it was straight to the beach, had to have a swim on Christmas Day :) After the forecast of rain it turned out to be a gorgeous day. Back to the flat by about midday where we had a few friends round for some drinks on the balcony, in the sun (bet you were all lovin the rain at home!). Then it was off to the city, to ... read more

Hey there, so it's been a month in Sydney now! A month today, can't believe it, the time has just flown by! Having an absolute ball! The first couple of weeks were just brilliant. Lots of partying, shopping, sightseeing, sunbathing and a lot more partying! Bondi and Coogee have become our regular spots to go to, and both are brill. The beaches are just beautiful, not quite Portrush ya know! May have mentioned this already but lovin the nitelife! Lovin that I can wear flip flops into clubs! Popular spots include Coogee Bay Hotel, backpacker central that place is, and a good nite out 7 days a week! Bondi Junction is pretty cool too with Tea Gardens and Cock 'N' Bull, if I was ever feelin a bit homesick (which I'm afraid I don't :p) these ... read more

What follows is a bunch of stories about some of my good times here in Sydney. Some of the stories are funny, some are boring... but they were all good events. They don't really even scratch the surface of what all has gone on. Though nothing terrible wild and exciting. Mostly healing and making new good friends $26 Suit Saturday night I found myself dancing to bad 80s music and having a great time. I owe it all to my $26 suit. Daz ended up with an extra ticket to his Black Tie Christmas party, and he offered it to me. I looked into getting a monkey suit but that was $150, not really worth it in my book. I was told that I didn’t really need a formal suit. Most people didn’t even wear ties. ... read more
