Only 6 days left down under before we set off to New Zealand, which I suppose is still down under! We have been in Sydney for a week now and have been graced with the presence of Tom Pond who is here for a wedding (Not ours, in case you were wondering). Let me try to remember what we have been up to...........(pause for effect or affect)............. oh yes I remember. Brisbane: We arrived on the greyhound after a reasonable journey. My first impressions of the city were a sense of dread as this was the biggest place we has been to since Perth. Halfway into town we jumped on the free circular bus and took it as far as Circular Quay where we got to see the Bridge and Opera House (typical tourists). With the flight starting to catch up with us we jumped into a cab and returned to the hotel for a rest and showers. ... read more

Just a quick one as I've got a couple of mins before my internet time runs out. We've been in Sydney for a couple of days, won the pub quiz last night which netted us 2 pints each for free, plus the eternal glory that victory brings. Today we went to the aquarium and saw platypuses (platypi?) and dugongs (a type of manatee) as well as a large selection of sharks and other under-the-sea type stuff! Other than that we've been playing bowls again (fantastic fun - I'll be playing with the blue rinse brigade when I get back) and otherwise enjoying the social side of things.... read more
