See previous post for more of an introduction, but after our first night staying with Chris, we decide to just embrace the fact that we are staying with a 60 year old nudist pot farmer and make some plans for the day. We convince Chris to take a "sickie" and skip work so he can serve as our tour guide. It really didn't take that much convincing. We take off for Crowdy National Park and Diamondhead. I had found the parks randomly in my travel searches, and Chris was the only Aussie who had ever even heard of them. There are 700 national parks in Oz, compared to the 40 or so in the US, so it really isn't too surprising. We pack up and head off in the car, and immediately spot two koalas in ... read more

Well who would of thought....we have only one more day of work before we head off on our worldwide adventures for 12 months flying out the 30th March. Whoop whoop!! This trip is the one you always talk about but wonder if, when and how it will occur. Pito has only travelled to New Zealand (for our honeymoon and an Ironman) and is terribly excited to see the world beyond the greater triangle of Holbrook, whilst Jac hasn't done a big trip since her gap year in 2001 to the UK and Europe. The start of our worldwide shenanigans, like all good holidays, will commence with the 'Triceratops' doing an Ironman and Ultra Marathon in South Africa. Yep, you read right....we're apparently planning our year off around sporting events!! The 'Triceratops' was created by three boys, ... read more

Well we have left Mike's daughter and family after 3 weeks staying with them. I think they need an award or do I mean we need one as we laid a block patio, build a gazebo and also laid a lawn of fake grass and whilst doing this looking after a fabulous 20 month old little girl (or Mike's granddaughter to put it correctly) called Sophia. So we make a 7 hour ride down past Coff's Harbour where you might remember a few weeks previously there was a young lad who died from a shark attack so I think we might keep away from here. To be honest though driving through Coff's Harbour on the Pacific Highway all I can say is a bit of a posh Blackpool. If you like Blackpool then visit if you ... read more

First of all, many congratulations to Di and Joe who tied the knot on Friday 27th!We wish you both every happiness in the world! Secondly, Bellingen is awesome! I could quite happily stay here. Forever. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and, after a much needed lunch feast, went for a cycle around the town which lies on the not-quite-spelled-the-same Bellinger River. The different spelling seems to have been the result of a misinterpretation of poor handwriting somewhere along the line. While out cycling, I was catapulted back into ‘reality’ when received a call inviting me to be a panel member at a conference in Melbourne in November. I must say, work is so far removed from my mind at the moment and it was a nice feeling to say fanx, b... read more

Hi Everyone We have had a lot of fun over the last couple of days. Day 6. Uncle Glenn left. We went to the Sawtell Bakery for some yummy food. We met our friends Belinda, Luke and Gary. I really like Luke. We have a lot in common. They took us then to the headland at Sawtell beach. It was low tide. Belinda took us over to this Island. She use to go there when she was a little girl. There was a beautiful rock pool there. We swam in it. We saw all types of creatures like crabs, birds and shell creatures. Mum said it smelt like sea lions. Dad told her it was the bird doo doo. Luke, James and I were dare devils. we got there over the rocks. Day 7 It was ... read more

Today we had a swim in the pool at the caravan park. Dad and I threw the ball to each other. From one end of the pool to the other. Our record was 25. Dad's skills were amazing (yeah right). We went to Sawtell beach. It was fun (not). When we got back our friends Belinda and Luke came over to visit us. Luke is great. We had so much fun. He likes Skylanders too. We played Skylanders, played at the park and rode our bikes. I am hoping to see him again tomorrow. Bye Billy... read more

Today I went to the butterfly house. Three butterflies landed on me. The man told me if you have salt on your shirt or pants, a butterfly will land on you. There was a maze there. I got through to the middle first. Then we went shopping. (Boring). Then we went to the beach. Mum surfed. James went to pat a dog and it bit him. The owner was really mean to James. He was the meanest person in the world. The man yelled at James and mum yelled at the man. On the way home we saw the coolest water park in the middle of nowhere. When my cough is better we will go there. Bye Billy Flynn... read more

Geo: -30.4524, 152.8985 months late, but I didn't think that I would still be continuing with these blogs after three years. This will be the last blog related to my work in NSW, and what a way to finish off than with a few bits and pieces from around the state over the period of three months.I guess I should start from the beginning, after returning from a 7 month trip to Europe to spend time with Anna, I found myself with one last stint up in NSW.I didn't go straight back to the schools, but instead my company picked up a subcontracting opportunity with another company to apply a bomb proof film on the external windows of the Australian Federal Parliamentary Building in Canberra. It was exciting and something different to the schools. Our company ... read more
