...And so begins my blog regimen. Hip-Hip-Hooray: we are on our way. I hope you have marked this on your calendar and set aside "our time" when I can share with you our adventures on this 4 month journey. We truly hope you are all on board with us. Without you, my blogs would only be a diary. Having you to share them with makes our times and experiences together come alive. Thanks for signing up! Just wouldn't be the same without you. Our family Christmas Day was wonderful. Most every one was there. Our son, Cory and our grandchildren (including Conner) were also with us even though distance kept us physically apart. The weather cooperated so our traveling families didn't have to struggle with bad roads. Even Bow, Al & Brittany's dog, joined us. It's ... read more

I'm ready for the No-See-Ums

Sunday dawned with bright sun and a touch of warmth. It was going to be a beautiful day to be married. We had the rehearsal behind us, many family members and friends had arrived the day before and come to the house, and the groomsmen and Kris had spent the night away and were awaiting my call to come back and get changed. First the hairdressers came and proceeded to do Kim and Autumn's hair. We were staying in the RV next to the house to be out of the way, but one step in and you knew what was transpiring....spray, goo, blow dryers, smell.....yep, hair getting done. Once hair was set and ladies dressed, Kim, Autumn, and Kris's mother left for the Purple Iris. That gave Trish and me a chance to take a shower ... read more

We un-winterized the RV and had our mechanic do some work a few weeks ago. It needed new turn signals in the front (turns out you can't just change a bulb), new air suspension bags in the front, and a general tune up. Ended up with new brakes and oil change and tuneup on the generator. Yow! Once home, we cleaned inside and out and then stocked up with food and supplies and clothes. First big trip of the year is to Martinsburg, WV for our daughter's wedding. We left Friday morning early and managed to get in late the same day. We had a hold-up in Salem, VA with some sort of problem on I-81, so had to go through town for a bit. That's OK, found gas for $3.07. Once in at Kim's, we ... read more

Normally I try to keep up with our trips as we go. However, shortly after starting out, my laptop developed a problem and the screen went blank. I was left to rely on local libraries as we traveled but they often had a 30 minute time limit--just long enough to check bank account and email. So we are catching up slowly and after the fact. But the blog will be in chronological order. After our spring shakedown, it was time to saddle up and head north to New England. We used to live in New Hampshire from 1973-1979 while John taught high school there and while Trish and the kids had been back in the summer of 83 and 84 to work on the house we still owned (and rented out), John had not been back ... read more

We only had a short drive to get to Kim’s. By being at Dave and Bonnie’s, we cut our drive by at least 45 minutes. Since we had filled with water, and dumped the sewer at Lodge’s, we traveled ready to park for almost a week. Kim was working from home that day and was on a conference call when we arrived. Once the call ended, we had time to hug and catch up. To our dismay, Kim had a cold and sounded stuffy. So we opted to stay around the house and not go running out to stores except for essentials. On Wednesday we relaxed and then went in to Shephardstown to see Kim’s new office. She had competed and gotten a new job 6 months ago and this was our first chance to see ... read more
