The drive from Chewelah Golf & Country Club RV Park in Chewelah WA to Carl Precht Memorial RV Park in Omak WA on Sunday, July 9, 2017 was 140 miles and took almost three scenic, totally uneventful hours. My first stop was the visitor center located on the edge of the park, which also hosts many other recreational opportunities for Omak’s citizens, including the Omak Stampede & World Famous Suicide Race, aw, shucks – the second weekend of August. I remember seeing the event, but did not have its location in the front of the file cabinet. It sounds unique. Perhaps somewhere down the road. Since my condensed itinerary had allocated only two days in Omak, I took housekeeping off the agenda and will have to catch up later. Unfortunately, with nobody to blame but myself, ... read more

SOME RECORDS ARE JUST MEANT TO BE BROKEN! Yes just 58 days into our 60 day journey we set a new distance record at 794 kilometers. Helli just would not ride around town so we could hit the 800 mark. We also set a new record for the coldest day this trip at 5 degrees this morning. So bundle up, turn the grips up and put the hammer down. We left Butte, Montana this morning at 6.30 and didn’t stop till we hit Missoula almost 200 k’s later. Helli has told me that a horse always picks up speed when it can see it is returning to the barn. Since I don’t have a horse or a barn I will just have to trust her. Anyway Helli picked up the pace as we flew down the ... read more

Mexico Just six more days until I get ready to head south of the border. I am super excited. I haven't really been to Mexico before (just once but I was only six, so I don't remember). But more than that, it's a chance to get away! It is no easy thing for me to stay here. Apart from the fact that I've been living with my parents for the last six months after living on my own for the better part of three years (I'm not complaining - it's just that my independent personality hasn't gone anywhere) - I'm somewhat weary. At times I feel like I'm in this big classroom and God is making me sit at my desk and won't let me get up until He's done teaching me some things. I wonder ... read more
