Ok so today I drove across town to get 2 new tyres and found out we needed 3. They were listed as $66 a piece, but with tax wheel balance and disposal cost they worked out to be $106 each. That works out to be about 60% increase on marked price. Since it was Tanja's 50th Birthday today we stopped at Jim's to order breakfast to go. Ten we sat around until 3.30PM for her to get out of bed and also color her hair. Then drove to her favorite Taco restaurant El Farol. I had a Chile Verde Chimichanga. Supposed to be spicy, but barely got any flavor from it. Then came home to go out again to a Boy scout of America pack meeting. It was an outdoors affair with awards and with hotdogs ... read more

Hi Guys This is the first entry to my travels around the USA. Dah! Arrived safely and customs weren't as bad as last time I visited 4 years ago. Made to feel at home by my great friends Leonard and Tanja. Next day we searched for a car. After several dealers we came across one that had one close to my price range and in fairly good order. Next thing was to get insurance and registration. I think car buying is a bit easier in Aust. and the secondhand cars are also a bit cheaper in Aust. After a couple of days car is secured. It also needed a new battery and front tyres. L & T have looked after me well and even their food is enjoyable. Yesterday we travelled to Cottonwood Canyon to get ... read more

1 Jul 2016: Our address for the next two days is the Mountain View RV Park. We got the only remaining space. It pays to make reservations, especially around holidays. It was a very nice park. All the spaces were level and paved although they were narrow. We had a pull through with shade! So excited about the shade. Unfortunately the trees providing the shade also blocked our satellite reception but we were pretty busy and didn'T have time for tv. One feature I've never seen before was in the laundry room. You could enter your space number on the machine and it would text you when your clothes were done. We did most of our laundry at Barbara's apartment in Murray so we could visit while the clothes tumbled and spun. It was a very ... read more

30 Jun 2016: Today we are driving up to Salt Lake City to visit with our sister Barbara and some of her children. This is a special event for us as I have not seen her in several years. Barbara is not in very good health and we don'T want to miss an opportunity to see her. We also enjoy visiting with her children and their families. Jeanne and I believe that family members can be together forever. That helps us to forge strong bonds and constitutes a blessing to help us through our mortal journey here on Earth. We are taking the scenic route. From Cedar City we proceed North on Utah State Route 30 through Minersville, route 257 through Milford and across the Black Rock Desert to Delta, then North on route 6 to ... read more
