I believe in my last blog I mentioned that changes in my plans had been happening almost continously. That trend continued over the last few weeks. As you all know, I packed all my belongings into my RV and was getting it road ready. The generator was repaired but it was Jult 21st before the towing package was installed on the RV and the Jeep. That took a full day as a towing plate had to be attached to the frame of the jeep and the tail lights had to be re-wired. It took the RV Shop longer than expected to complete the job because they were having issues with the wiring. I pulled out of the shop at 5:30 Thursday evening with the jeep in tow. If you remember from my previous travel blog, Taos is one of my favorite US locations. Our drive up through the Rio Grande river canyon in bright sunshine did not disappoint. Even though Emily was not in great shape we had 4 possible destinations on the schedule. First was Taos Pueblo, but it was closed for several days. Next was the bridge over the Rio Grande canyon bridge on our way to Earthship. We drove slowly over the canyon which proved to be adequate. Earthship was a housing development stated in the 70's to create a community of structures that relied on environmental practices to heat, cool, water, and grow all the resources necessary to sustain life. Taos, New Mexico - Longish emotional update, so please forgive unconnected thoughts or grammatical errors. Betty would always proof read my writing before allowing me to post it to our blog. KC is less critical. This is one of my top 3 favorite locations to visit and has always been at the top of my “want to live there” list. Although growth and emphasis on tourism has occurred, Taos is still high on my list. I have always want to live in or around the Taos and part of this visit was to check out real estate for a possible move. Le 1er Aout, saturday L'après-midi, après Taos Pueblo, nous partons à l'aventure vers la source chaude indiquée par le vannier à Taos. Et après avoir bifurqué à Arroyo Hondo (La rivière profonde), nous arrivons a une unpaved route (que nous gravissons à pied par au moins 35°C) qui suit le bord du canyon pour finalement redescendre vers les Hot Springs, que nous apercevons, de l'autre coté du Rio Grande. Il faut pour les atteindre franchir un pont métallique et emprunter une piste caillouteuse sur environ 200 mètres. Arrivée en première au lieu dit, Lulu ne veut plus avancer, terrifiée par le vieil homme nu qui se tient là.
