I've been back in America for two and a half months now and what better time to return to America than summer time! It has been a great summer, filled with fun events, fabulous weather and a journey around the world right here in Ocean/Monmouth County. The sad fact is traveling has had to be put on hold for the moment and working, really working, has taken over. This isn't to shabby, I stay busy and have a fun job, but I can't deny the pull to go out on yet another adventure. So to rectify this problem I have joined forces with my mom, brother and friend to travel the world via food! Has it become obvious how much I love food as of the last couple of entries? Well I really do love food ... read more

For too brief a time I was heading back to America to visit my family. I never thought while I was here I was going to venture back home, but when my mom, aunt and brother could visit Thailand leaving behind my dad and other brother I was willing to make my own trek home to see them.Ok I wasn’t just willing I was uber excited. I had decided to head home in October for a number of reasons but the two biggest being Michael, my youngest brother, was turning 21 and my all time favorite holiday ever, Halloween, lured me home. True the fall weather was a bit horrifying, but I was slightly excited to wear a sweater again so it wasn’t to much of a set back to know I would be home when ... read more

By John 3 16 May 1st 2007 Brandy Martinez Over the this past weekend I had a wonderful oppurtunity to join some awesome women in going on a retreat to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference center. Over all this trip was a God stop in my life. Our wonderful Father showed me truly how much he does for me on a daily basis. When the trip was originally posted, I wanted to go, however, having a big family, finances can be a huge set back. So I prayed on it. We just happened to be in church on Sunday morning when my mother in law asked if i'd like to join her in going on the retreat, her treat. I thought " Thank you Jesus!" Of course I said I'd love to. As the trip grew ... read more

The local comic book convention took place today from 10-4. I've attended pretty much since I moved in this direction way back in the day. It had the usual assortment of fans, dealers, and nutjobs. It amazes me that even such a small show still attracts people who dress up and try to stand out. But thats what always gets written about in the paper. How a bunch of loonies got dressed up like the guys from Star Trek, Star Wars, Superman, or whatever and hung around. Well I havent and never will get dressed up. I walked around and bought some stuff from the dealers. Avoiding everything Captain America as the prospectors were out in full paying ridiculous prices for stuff that won't be worth what they paid for it this time next month. When ... read more

9 inches of water in less then two hours. Thats what caused flash floods all over the area. Now we aren't talking Katrina here but enough to cause major trouble. People being rescued from cars. Buildings flooding and the like. Being at work during the time and watching the building flood meanwhile trying to save equipment and help people who couldnt get around. It was a busy day. One minute we have a puddle in the backroom next thing you know we are trying to plug holes in the wall where water is rushing in. We got it all taken care of though and I am glad to say no one was hurt and we didnt lose anything major. I know some people lost vehicles and the like but other then that it turned out alright. ... read more

The carnival rode into town today and is here for the remainder of the weekend. And since this is a unique American right of Passage we of course had to take the monkey to her first fair. She did all the big things she rode the merry go round, she ate some cotton candy (which she hated), stood in long lines for five second rides, watched daddy not win at games and therefore not get her some cheesy stuffed animal. ( yeah I'm bitter so what! Those damn things are rigged!!!) She seemed to love the overall experience and got a real kick out of the carousel. She was patting the horses head and kicking the whole time. The by the end she was trying to climb off. The really strange part was that they had ... read more

Hot as all hell out today. And yet the guys are still up above putting on the new roof. Considering how many times the old thing leaked and flooded our building we are all pretty damn happy about it. All day long for days now all I've heard is BANG BANG BANG. ANd the winch on the crane as it swings the trusses up to the roof. Let me tell you it does not help having a damn headache while all of this happening. Though I am wondering if the banging gave me the headache to begin with or if it is the reason I can't shake the damn thing. AT least it's finally the weekend. I thought this damn week would never end. Too much work and no play makes me a frigging maniac. ... read more

Well Tonight we went to go see some wrasslin'. It was in a high school gym in Toms River and did have some former WWE wrestlers involved. And a bunch of guys who are trying to be wrestlers and some who shouldn't be anywhere near a ring. The seats were good as they were in the first row and we could see everything and got to chat with some of the guys in the ring and the announcers. The place was not very full maybe a 150 people. Some families and of course a boatload of bottomdwellers. I have begun to believe that the average wrestling fan is 20-35 overweight and never learned how to bath or dress themselves. That would also explain the fact that very few women were their. A point which my lovely ... read more
