Okay, so if you look at a map, it's going to look silly that we skipped Boston. But, we're heading there after we do the final New England states so that we can see Jayme again after she went to Serbia for about 9 days. We only got to see her for a day in Connecticut before she left, and wanted to see her again, so that's the explanation. so, bypassing Boston and off to Maine! Nothing was really mapped out for us to see in Maine, so we drove through for a little bit, saw a lot of fresh seafood restaurants with pictures of lobster on them, and headed to New Hampshire. Our only stop here was just North of Woodstock at a little tourist trap called Clark's Trading Post. Clark's has been holding a ... read more

Well the last day off a week ago seems like it was just yesterday. What an ace day we had! Went shopping and it was so hard not to go OTT! Tanya gave us a tour of her town, saw her high school etc. Went back to hers and lounged in the Sun with a margarita which was nice, second one went straight to my head. Got a really good bbq'd meal by her Mum and Dad which was awesome. Tanya insisted we play beer pong which was so hard but second round I got the hang of it so was a bit tiddly. Stayed the night there and our designated driver drove us back to camp on Wednesday morning. Felt v. tender for most of the day but lucky for me it was raining so ... read more

ALOT, alot alot, has happened this week! So our day off last Thursday, we decided to go to Lindy's diner for breakfast... and of course the American sized portions meant we ordered far too much food. Decided to drive out to Boston, got as ar as the state line and thought sack that lets go to the beach... 'Hampton beach' not the posh one we see from Sex and The city... the hillbilly version, but it was still good fun, the ocean was freezing but we had a competition to see who could go in the furthest... of course I won by dunking right under. There were baywatch style lifeguards... quad bikes and flosts as well which was fun! Ended the night with a shop around target where we bought walkie talkies to speak to ... read more

So, finally my first entry after being back here at camp in New Hampshire for the third year! Leaving the Netherlands in the early hours of a Sunday morning, I slept through most of my journey to New York. In New York I had a few hours at the airport, which I spent trying to find my way around JFK airport, even the staff wasn't always able to tell me where my terminal or gate was... No wonder, when I saw my propeller plane, operated by "Freedom Airlines" - it was tiny and only had about 9 rows. Unlike the air-conditioned flight I just got off, this plane was boiling hot and very noisy. The air hostess was on her first day at work, so she was reading things of a sheet, and her supervisor ... read more

Well it's been a great week so far, a few firsts - rock climbing, sailing, canoeing and a brush with border patrol, who were a long way from the border... I didn't have my passport with me but gave them my passport number which I have now memorised after filling it in so many times. Thursday I went rock climbing for the first time ever, did the VH1 climb at Echo Crag in Franconia Notch. I went with Tyler and Nick who are leading the climbing trips for camp. It was grade 5-7 and I got stuck at one point (the hardest I've been told) for what felt like 5 minutes) and then flew up the rest. It was hard, my abs were sore for 2 days. My hands have never burnt so much whilst climbing ... read more

Hello! Thank you for the lovely comments, made me smile in the Keene state college library. Saturday night we had our camp fire which was fun... I was tribe chief for the green team. So the Kids arrived on Sunday... Two of them took trunks which are twice the size of them and guess who had to sort them out.. I quote one child 'ooh, you took fruit loops?' 'Yeah, my Mom gave them to me incase I get home sick...' She's the only kid I'm having trouble with, refusing to eat and saying she wants to go home after every fun activity. The other 3 are good, one is Tanya's sister so she gives me no grief and the other two are good kids. We had the counsellor show on Sunday night for them which ... read more

Howdy y'all! Well It's Friday and its my fifth FULL day of being at Camp Wa-klo! The DVD didn't quite do it justice... It's a million times better. No 'cell' reception unless I sit on a hill behind 'Roy Kit' the food hall and texts are 50p so I'm watching my pennies. Anyhoo, flight was great, mini tvs so got a bit of Leo and a bit of Reynolds, thank GOD for my DS! would have gone insane without it. Went from the airport to customs, faffing about with visa papers, bus to the Ramada in Newark, drove past the Manhattan skyline :D :D Stayed there and then bus to Port Authority, through the Linoln tunnel where we crossed the State line, through Hells kitchen, I was prepared for this from Ken's Godfather Ps2 game... spitting ... read more

What a long few days - I'm sitting here at 6am after having the best sleep ever - a solid 8 hours. I was in bed last night going through some photos after dinner and a shower (1st since Monday night) and I almost dropped the camera on my face I was so tired... I've had only had about 10hrs sleep over 4 days. At the orientation meeting I thought the hotel was moving but it was just me... in the 18hrs of travel time from Melb-Auckland-LA I had about 1hr sleep - I watched 5 movies on the plane! After the meeting a group of 8 of us went out to Hermosa beach after leaving the mall at 9:30pm (when it closed at 9pm). One of the girls had her birthday at Sharkey's last ... read more
