When we last blogged we had visited Concord where the first shots of the American revolution were fired. The next day we headed to Boston or as the locals call it “Baarstan”. For those who have refreshed your knowledge of American revolutionary issues based on our blogs you will be aware that Boston was the centre of all things revolutionary. (For those who have not brushed up please do so at your convenience). Summer In Maine I returned to Maine in mid-June, and immediately put all of my energy into the music scene here. I went to several open mic nights, and made some contacts and began to line up gigs as a solo performer. But I ran into a friend that I had made before going traveling who sings, and she was looking to get some music going. We ended up forming a duo, and began gigging as "On Deck Shenanigans." So, I am gigging as a solo performer, but also in a duo. My buddy Dane has been coming to the gigs, and playing percussion. It's all coming together. As it stands now, I plan to stay in Maine for the summer, but am making arrangements for my winter spot. Not sure where I will end up, ... read more

Last night in Maine. Tomorrow I'll get on the road for 3 hours to Nort Andover, where I'll live and work. I shouldn't get lost because I bought a gps that can take me everywhere :-) Today I've met someone of my agency that could give more information about the work. I'll work residential, it's means I'll be there when the children are not at school. So I will work evening and weekends. They children have different dissabilities like autism, attachment dissorder, ... But I'll know more later. Next week I will have orientation at my work about the organisation. See you... read more

Hi, It's been a couple of days now since I took the plane. It get well and we haven't any problem. After we arrived at Boston, we took the bus for 3h30 to Waterville, ME. We are living at the Colby College till Friday morning. I needed some time to get over the jetlag, but now it's all done. When you want to now what time is it for me you just have to count six hours less. (exp. when it's 16:00 a'clock in the morning in Belgium, it's 10:OO for me) On Teusday evening we ate a typical american dinner: BBQ. We had to make our own hamburger, that was nice.
