My bad! We’ve waited until the last minute to inform that we are going on another cruise. Yes, that’s right….another cruise and you all are invited to join us. We are leaving tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM so you don’t have much time to get ready. You can do it…but Hurry Up! Hurry, Hurry Up!! We signed up with a group from our park to go on Carnival’s newest and biggest ship, the Mardi Gras. We will be sailing to Cozumel, Mexico…Costa Maya, Mexico… and Mahogany Bay, Isla Routan. This is a 7 day cruise so we’ll return on February 26th. It should be a great time. I’ll be taking copious pictures but won’t be able to send them until our return…..so don’t hold your breath! We had to do some prep work in order to ... read more

Today dawned rainy. A front is moving through. No worries for me though. I repack, brew coffee and proceed to iron my blouse. It has literally been years since I held an iron and I had forgotten the great satisfaction of watching the wrinkles disappear. I ordered a car to the port and while waiting I met a couple who had just returned from The Nieuw Statendam. They gave me good information and were over the moon by the service on board. 11:30 my car arrived, 11:50 checked in, 12:05in my suite, unpack my carryon and head to the Lido for a pasta lunch. Sail away was lovely all the ship’s horns sounded as we pulled away from our sister ships The Rotterdam and The Zuiderdam as well a a Royal Caribbean and another two I ... read more

2KZLago Mar. Not to be confused with that other place with the name backwards. Arrived and called home and settled in for a twelve hour nap. Breakfast was outside and between people watching and bird watching I really enjoyed it. No one here is masked except staff, and me. The guests are either young with kids or older with many families with teens. The resort is full. The prices are resort rates. Not opting for the buffet $18 and not very hungry I ordered off the menu; apple juice $3.25, coffee $3.50 and pancakes $15.75. I asked for just one pancake and when the check came, the waitress has just charged me $6 for the pancake. Kind lady. Next was heading to the airport for my Covid test. I asked the concierge for a taxi and ... read more

I am so out of it. Packing, that used to be routine now isn’t. Nearly forgot my make up and bathing suit bottoms. Forgot to take my IPad and phone from my carryon going through security and found out there is no First Class lounge at LGA. Drat. So here I sit at the gate for the next two hours. Still it’s a beautiful day, my driver was very nice and we made good time (too good) and I am getting used to wearing a mask. The airport is empty. Wondering if the plane will be but not hopeful since there are lots of people at the gate with me. I thought I’d kill some time at the bar but a cosmo was $30. Bagged that idea. People seem to be behaving well so far, wearing ... read more

How do you plan a Disney trip or any trip? I usually start with deciding the dates because you can't book a flight or hotel room without a date. However, sometimes that is not the case. Sometimes you need to start with knowing what the expenses is going to be first. How much does plane tickets cost? The hotel. How much are you willing to spend for this trip. How much do you need to save per pay check to afford this trip. How long do you need to save so you will have enough money. Having all these parameters answered will dictate how many days you can enjoy your trip and when. Would it be possible to enjoy it for 2 weeks? 1 week maybe? Or just 3 days. Yeah, yeah. How much Paid Time ... read more

I’m sure you all have been wondering about this…whether we were dead or alive! Obviously, we are the latter. I checked and the last blog I wrote was on December 19th. OMG…Nooooo. Nothing like taking a break from blogging. Call it what you may….procrastination, dithering, shilly-shallying, dilly-dallying, hawing, laziness, forgetfulness……bunch them altogether and it culminates into my one pathetic alibi. I’m sure none of you blubbered your eyes out missing our blog…..it gave you lots of time to refresh yourselves for another round of my chit-chat…..chatter. And lots of it this time so prepare yourselves. Yawn, Moan, Groan….I can hear this coming from you! Cut it out! Let’s begin. You have to get back in your old time machine again and set it for before Christmas. Got it? OK. Whoa…..we are really going back in time, ... read more

Merry, Merry Christmas everyone. We wish you all the joy this season may bring. Being here in Florida makes you use your imagination a bit more to get in the spirit of Christmas. With no snow and cold weather, no hot chocolate and burning chestnuts (yes, ours burned…not just roasted), we have to seek and soak up all the Christmas decorations we can find! Some places really have stupendous displays. So much work putting them all up and then turning around and taking them down. We were whipped just hanging a few lights and a couple Dollar Store trimmings. We praise these dedicated folks for sharing their enthusiasm and festive spirit. We find ourselves wandering through endless stores to hear the melodious Christmas music over their intercom. Sometimes we sing along….??fa-la-la-la-la??. We stare all day and ... read more

Golly! I bet you were wondering if I had died or something. Never fear, I’m still here….just lazy and absorbed with streaming various shows on our TV. Now I’m ready to get back to business. Is that applause I hear? Bring it on folks! We had a Happy Halloween here at Tropical Palms. Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet! Some of the dedicated campers decorated their sites for the holiday with some fabulous blow-up figures. Us….the best we came up with was Lulu and a simple plastic pumpkin. Lulu didn’t even wear a costume! She usually puts on a fancy type headdress. It wasn’t even enough to take a picture of. Several costumed treat or treaters came by for some candies. Lulu was jealous! Theresa & Grant and Walt & Diane came over with their dinner ... read more

Two weeks post- op and Cory went to see his doctor. Well, kind of….he passed him at the work station….enough to share greetings. Don’t you think he should be called Dr. Hunky? Oh-la-la. Cory was actually seen by his Physician Assistant, Christa. She plays an important role in this whole process….after the doctor performed the surgery, it was Christa who put Patient Cory back together again with her handiwork. She will follow him until he is completely recovered. She is very good! I do have one complaint, however. Cory rolls his eyes on this. They didn’t take a photo of his knee during the surgery! Remember mine that I shared with all of you? All the blood and gore and raw bone….’member? You knew me inside and out after that. Not going to happen here with ... read more
