Saskatchewan Travel Blogs

Background: A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. The issue of reconciling Quebec's francophone heritage with the majority anglophone Canadian population has moved to the back burner in recent years; support for separatism abated after the Quebec government's referendum on independence failed to pass in October of 1995.

A glimpse of where I spent a couple days of my life....on airplanes and in airports. You should have smelled me.
I leave on January 30th....whoa! It's about time, I've been hanging out wasting too much money all month. Mostly on beer, which I hear is what most travellers base their budget on anyways! [View Full Entry]

I'll try to make an entry as often as possible, and you can check it out whenever you feel like it! I've set it up so that you receive an e-mail every time I make a new entry. If you talk to anyone else who would like to know when there's a new entry, just have them send me an e-mail and I'll add them to the list! Or they can link to this [View Full Entry]

There is something to be said for summer in a place with 9 months of winter every year. Seasonal depression, pasty white skin, and vitimin D deficencies are abandoned for the glorious heat and girly drinks with umbrellas that are all too common in Saskatchewan in summer. Theres only 8 weekends of decent weather a year in Regina and so each one seems to bring with it a festival or gathering of some sort. Event #1- Taste of Regina + Flatlands Music Festival all I need is a pair of dancin shoes and one of those girly drinks with umbrellas; or [View Full Entry]

Indian Head, Sask.
Funny enough, this is the main attraction in the grand city of Indian Head, Saskatchewan.
Hello gang. We are over-nighting in Swift Current, SK. We discovered the hard way that driving West after 7:30 pm in the Prairies is not good for your health. It causes too much stress, eye strain and semi-permanent white knuckles for the driver!!! We ventured from Brandon to Regina on Tuesday, only four hours on the road, a short day! We spent time in White City with Teresa, Les and the kids before heading to Kronau to visit with Kathy and Dale. The shortest route from White City to Kronau is to travel on grid roads between sections, directly south and [View Full Entry]

Oh please dont get me started, my hearts in the center of my chest. it starts with an itch. everything about home becomes bland and boring. Settling into an mind bogglingly normal routine. Raisin Bran for breakfast, sandwhich for lunch, meat and potatoes for supper. Get drunk once a week with the same people youve been getting drunk with once a week since highschool. Diarreah once or twice a week. Damn Raisin Bran for being so delicious. I digress. Everything in Regina is Millhouse- the friends, family, the good times- unbeatable. But back to the itch... its still there and its [View Full Entry]

Hey guys, here it is, "the plan,".. the impossible to follow list of dates and places I might be: June 5th Fly out of Regina to London, then London to Venice. June 13th to July 2nd will be spent in and around Mestre, doing kids programs in parks and hopefully some weekend day trips to Venice... My main goals being: 1) Not to fall in the Canal and 2) Not to kick a shoe or drop my purse in the Canal. July 4th to 9th will either be travelling to a nearby country, or will begin travelling Italy.. The plan being [View Full Entry]

The Machine!!!
The Machine!!!
This is the old one, the 15 pounder!!!
Okay guys here it is!!! For all you asthmatics, jump for Joy!!! I finally got my new ventolin machine, I nearly cried in the office when they gave it to me, i was sooo happy, its a pound and a half and only takes about 7 minutes to complete a treatment, whereas my old machin took anywhere from 15-30 minutes. As you can see from the pictures, its alot smaller... but it seriously reminds me of those old Sony walkmens, the "Sport" kind. The blue one is my old one, weighing 10-15 pounds.. the yellow is my new one weighing 1.5 [View Full Entry]
