Well here we are, after many months of training and planning we are finally ready.. Paul is biting at the bit to get on his saddle and cant wait to get to those mountains. Colin will probably still be doing up his laces on the day and trying very hard not to think about any hills let alone The Alps. Hello everybody. Well it's that time again to get stuck into some serious travel adventures again. Right now I'm at Heathrow terminal 3 where I will shortly be boarding an Iberia flight to Madrid and connecting onwards to Santiago and finally Punta Arenas, southern Chile. From there it's a 3 hour bus journey to Puerto Natales which will be the gateway to the Torres Del Paine National Park. Mr Webb-butler is currently enroute having departed last night and all being well he will meet up with me and Jon in Punta Arenas in the early hours of Monday morning UK time. This is a rapid fire 3 week tour of South America and I will attempt to keep you updated throughout. We will visit 4 countries and travel approximately 22,000 miles. On the 28th of March at around 3:30pm I left Sydney and was on my way to Hong Kong. After a 9 hour flight I reached the Hong Kong International airport and followed signs and the crowd for directions to my next gate, gate 36. Then after a 2 hour stop we hopped back on and left for London. After a long and squishy 13 hours, I made it. Today at 6:30am this morning I arrived in the London, Heathrow Airport. I had to wait a few hours before I got picked up from the mother I am staying with but this gave me plenty of time to eat, rest, journal, read and freshen up. The big clear up is progressing with avengance. Booked the ferry from Cadiz to Tenerife today. Left it a little late so no double cabins left. Booked into a quadruple cabin instead. Bit more space for us for the 2 day journey. Picked up 5000 Euros from the post office today. Decided it was too difficult to tell the credit cards and banks what days we would be arriving in each country, so will be spending cash only from when we leave UK to when we arrive in Tenerife. ... read more

Good news in the post today. Got the DVLA log book for the new car. Means we can now book the ferries for our trip to Tenerife. House really looking pretty empty now. We sold Theresa’s bike this morning. We have also sold the bed and TV, but they will not be picked up until next weekend. The 3 piece suite went at Christmas but this morning we sold the sofa bed that we have been sitting on since. Luckily, we have been able to borrow a couple of chairs to sit on for the next week or so. Maybe someone is telling us we haven’t got time to sit down and relax. It certainly feels like it.
