Brett and I are back from out bus tour around Europe..it was so much fun but also so tiring because we were on the go all the time...most places we were only in the country for one night so we never bothered unpacking anything except the essentials. There were 42 people on the tour and as predicted Brett and I were the youngest ones but there were other people in their late 20's, Although most of the people were from australia there were couples from mexico, america, canada and a family from sth africa. Our tour director's name was Leo and he was amazing..he'd only been a tour director for 4 years...the most amazing part was he could speak 7 lanaguages...Dutch, German, French, Italian, English, Spanish and Norwagian. Then their was our bus driver for the ... read more

To London This is the first day of our quick trip to London. Over the next several days Alex and I plan to see Arsenal and Fulham on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. We flew Virgin Atlantic using my American Express points. It was a great deal! However, we had to arrive at Newark Airport around 4.30am on Black Friday. Alex lives in Lancaster and I live in Morgantown, PA. On Thanksgiving I dropped my car off in State College, PA so that we could drive directly to State College upon our return to Newark. Alex picked me up around 2.30am at the Morgantown Turnpike exit. We got there in no time. Once we were there, there was no line for Virgin Atlantic. I remember reading on Virgin's website once that we would be waited on ... read more

We’re halfway through our adventure in London and this is only the third blog entry. Sorry there hasn’t been more info, but we have things to do! Unlike some of our other trips, we have not been travelling around as much. Part of the reason is “we’ve already been there” to a lot of the places in and around London, and the other part is how many other “important” things we have to do; this isn’t a vacation, we’re simply living here instead of in California. So, I thought it might help if I described our typical life in London. If you’re reading this entry you probably know one or all of us well. Since this blog is hosted on a publicly available site I avoid revealing too much personal information. If you need more details ... read more

It's now been 2 months and we haven't sent out an update. OK, we've been busy - sorry! Rather than the usual "extensive journal," I'm going to try to make this entry an update on the last 2 months and see if I can find time to make more frequent (and shorter) ones later. It might work... If you read something and think it needs more explanation, ask! I probably have more pictures of it and may be able to post them. Here's a short list of stuff in case you don't want to read the rest: * A little about our first few days * Our flat searching experiences * Devery, Jim, AJ, & Kellyn visit * Edinburgh Fringe Festival * Robyn, Randi, and Aaron come to visit * We all go to Norway * ... read more

First day in London! (READ WITH ENGLISH ACCENT) We arrived around 10am in the London Heathrow Airport. First thing I did was try to call my friend, Mark from back in 7th grade when I lived in France (he created a facebook group that linked a bunch of us ex-middleschoolers together!). I couldn't figure out the stupid phone card thing, so i borrowed a cell phone from a limo driver and talked to Mark for about 5 min - I forgot that I was using someone else's cell phone and the limo driver was pretty pissed by the end :) We talked a cool bloke at the Underground (tube) ticket place who told us to check out hostels at Earl's Court. So, we easily made it there, talked to the first newspaper-seller-guy who told us to ... read more

Well Emma has now come and joined Team London so its been go go go as we explore the sights of London... once again! Firstly, before she arrived, Brad, Cal and myself set off at the crack of dawn (earlier for me cos I screwed up and set my alarm too early! oops!) to go to Oxford for the day to watch the Oxford boat races, the boys had been invited by their friend Christian and I tagged along hoping to meet some nice Oxford boys hehe... The boat races themselves were definately interesting, the whole purpose was to bump the boat in front of you... and then that was it! The races had been going on for a week and we were watching the last day, the point being to work your way up from ... read more

The eurostar is a fantastic means of transport. the train is so smooth. so smooth infact that i fell asleep and missed going through the chunnel. ah well, nothing but pitch black anyway. Back in London and i now have an oyster card. very easy to get around and i dont have to stuff around with cards in and out of my wallet, i just wave my wallet against the reader and voila! i am through. I still Love London. this town is fantastic, so much to do so much to see, it has a vibe that i just cant explain! We stayed last night at the Meininger hostel at Baden Powell house. IT was fantastic. the beds were nice, the breakfast was an all you can eat buffet as part of a jamie Oliver charity ... read more

Sorry it’s been so long, lots been going on since we have arrived in London. We have been here almost 3 weeks now and im please to say after staying on the floor at Matt and Kara’s house for two weeks, we have finally moved into our own place! Its located in Barons Court, about 2 min walk from the tube station. It’s a great house, a bit too up market for us, but we will get used to it. I can tell the BBQ and backyard will come in very handy this summer. I’m also please to let you all know that I am now employed. I’m the I.T Manager of a market research company in Angel, which just so happens to be across the other side of London but with the tube, it only ... read more
