Nuestro próximo destino fue Bruselas, la capital de Bélgica y el centro administrativo de la Unión Europea. Es considerada la capital de la Unión Europea, con lo que eso implica: mucha gente de distintos países conviviendo... y mucho tráfico! After a busy first day of the holiday, we were up at 7am fully rested and ready to do our first bit of Interrailing! Our hotel was only about a five minute walk to Lille Flandres Station, and in our ever-lasting panic of things going wrong, we were there about half an hour early to make sure our train was on the board and we knew exactly where we needed to go. Here is how our decision was made to go to Brugge.... Friend from hostel in Amsterdam: "Hey, where are you girls going next?" Kim & Katie: "We're not sure, but we were thinking about going to Brussels" Friend: "You should go to Brugge instead" Kim & Katie: "Ok!" So, yea it was a pretty random plan. Hi folks! This entry is merely an attempt to see how this site works. Within less than 24 hours I'll depart from Brussels to New York and from there out I'll fly to Lima, Peru. I'll be staying in Lima from Tuesday the second until Saturday 5th of July and will fly from Lima to Pucallpa. On Thursday (6/26), after class, two girls from my class (Karlie and Erin) and I left Brussels for Paris. I was so excited. These girls were the perfect company as well. Karlie is from LA and attends San Fransisco State University. She is hilarious and we are very similar; needless to say, she kept the trip entertaining. Erin is from Iowa and goes to Bradley. 28/6 Today Tim, Alex and I made our way to Ieper (Ypres) to see the Menin Gate and the other WW1 memorials that are there, we had hoped to do a bus tour but they weren't running them this weekend because of a car rally. Walking to the train station I was almost run down 3 times by mopeds on a bike/walk path, aparently thats the done thing. This town my seem a little sleepy but boy can it be dangerous.
