Is it worth to visit Brugge only for few hours?

Only Brussels or the Brussels and Brugge?

Hi!

Please give me your advice.

I will be in Belgium only for one day. Arriving at Brussels-Noord station at 1:00PM and departure next morning from Charleroi Airport.

I have an idea: spend half of that day in Brussels (only about 3 hours), than take the train and visit Brugge in the evening, spend the night in hotel in Brugge and next morning take a bus or train directly from Brugge to Charleroi Airport.

That do you think?

1. Is it reasonable to see both cities in one day? Will I have enough time to see main sightseeings in Brussels (Grand-Place, Maniken Pis) and than take a walk in the beautiful centre of Brugge? Or it's better to see Brussels for the whole day and do not visit the Brugge?

2. Does the trains work reliably in the morning? I don't want you late for to my plane.

Thank you! Reply to this

Well, this depends. If you want a quick tour, you may see both cities in one day. I think that you will have time to see Grand-Place and Maniken Pis and then visit Brugge.
Anyway, I recommend to see both Brussels and Brugge.

Hello Kiril 😊

I would not go to both. Just choose one and spend the day there.

I think the Belgian trains would be reliable. I never heard otherwise. If you have an early flight, check what time the first one goes to the airport.

EuropeWord, Mel, thank you!
I have bye the "open-time" ticket, i'm going to spend less time in Brussels and than going to catch the earliest train to Brugge.

You can see al the sites in brussels in about 30 minutes, but it takes a bit longer to understand the city.. I lived there for 9 years and it is still thrilling to go out every time.
Brugge is very scenic, but very boring. I'd advise you to stay in bxl (bruxelles) and take your time to stroll around, make sure to not look down because the most beautiful things are the houses - a lot of jugendstil. Go into a nice belgian restaurant, I can advise you some nice belgian bars to hang out in the evening. All around Grand Place (hostels are also quite close) From bxl you can get a train or bus to charleroi without any problems. Reply to this
