Blogger Bec What a game. What a thrown game. Very disappointed Mr.Moody, very disappointed. Sri Lanka chose not to play two extremely key players in this tussle between 2 of the best teams in the world and as a result, Sri Lanka never really put up any fight. Yes, Malinga was injured. But Vaas and Murali were NOT. They were just rested. That is like resting Ponting and Gilchrist because they wanted to save them for the finals. I'm sorry but that just ain't cricket. Still, lots of fabulous shots by the hardened and magical Aussie blokes and some inspired bowling by Bracken. We had our banner out ("G'day Jingers, the Zhous and Oz") which was hit by a 4 by the orgasm-inducing-in-Mark-Nicholas Matty Hayden. We also GOT ON TV!! When Jayawadene was dismissed by ... read more

Today was a top 3 clash between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. This was the first time NZ had really been tested and it showed they had a lot of work to do. After failing with the bat, NZ then fielded horribly and lost the game easily. After talking to a local British bloke yesterday, we found out that the stadium was in fact built by the Chinese (not Taiwanese like in St Kitts). "You mean funded by the Chinese?" I asked. No, it was literally built by the Chinese. Apparently, the Chinese contractors hired local Grenadians to do the work and then quickyl fired them coz they were too slow! They then shipped in Chinese workers to finish the job. Now, all you Chinese locals will appreciate the photos attached to this blog. I took ... read more

Blogger Dougo We arrived in St George's, Grenada, yesterday afternoon after a short 35 minute island hopper flight from Port of Spain, Trinidad. A short Taxi ride ($50 EC or $25 AUD) to Mitchell's Guest House and we had soon settled in for our stay in Grenada. Easter Sunday meant absolutely NOTHING was open so we just went for a walk around the water front and up the hill to look at the brand new Grenada National Stadium. Fully rebuilt after Hurricane Ivan totally destroyed it back in 2004, the stadium looked pretty impressive. All around the town there is still evidence of the destruction that the island endured three years ago. Churches with their roofs ripped clean off, houses without walls or windows. Today we got to the ground early (8:30am) coz we new ... read more

Hello everyone, it is very late at night but here I am documenting the day. Today was our shopping day in St. George's. We went to the Spiceland Mall and the local artisans market where I picked up a few great souvenirs. Then went to swim in the Caribbean Sea-the water is so clear you can see right to the bottom and the sand at Grand Anse beach is some of the whitest I have ever seen. A little girl named Nia tried to show me how to the do the butterfly because she said I was doing it wrong-not that I am an expert really but neither was she--we laughed together. This evening we had an outdoor worship/music concert in the parking lot of the mall. THere was a small crowd but all 40 of ... read more

Hello everyone, sounds like there have been some storms up there in the north. We had a big rain storm today and the sound of the thunder was so loud that people were screaming... luckily it was in the afternoon and not during VBS. We returned to Belair for Day two and there were 39 kids there, 9 of whom were under age 5. They were so great making popup cards in crafts, playing what time is it Mr. Wolf and singing Let me see your alligator. It sounded a bit like a church picnic and they love the action songs. My heart was warmed by the smile and cuteness of a two year old named Kevin-who doesn't really speak but for a few moments almost fell asleep in my arms. Then there was Darienne who ... read more

Hello everyone, Today was the first day of Vacation Bible School and we were working at Belair church. I am directing the program with about 20 of my friends here. We had 18 kids attend from ages 3-16. We sang a great new song to start off that the kids loved called I only want to be a sheep. It was so thrilling to see the smiles on their faces as they did their bible activities, sang songs, played games and made crafts. They were so excited about their bookmarks and especially singing songs with actions. Their smiles and laughter was uplifting. Everyone who was teaching, many of whom were leading groups of kids for the first time did a great job and were flexible in meeting the needs of all our kids. Bel Air is ... read more
