Up to this point Gregg has taken on all the blog writing and i have simply served as the editor, and supplier of the minute details, such as names of people and places, or helping to remind him of funny situations we have found ourselves in. However, being as I have spent much of the past week bored because he hasn't been feeling well, i thought I bring you up to speed on one of my adventures. In Samara I was lucky enough to borrow a bicycle, which seemed to have been passed down through the generations to each american who has lived in the house that our new friend Lexi, from Arkansas and Gregg's fellow GW alum, lent me. I bounced down the unpaved roads, which i do not advise for anyone with larger than ... read more

Hola Todos, We have arrived in Manuel Antonio and as a result of my slight mention of the tiny stomach ache I've had, my parents have insisted upon helping us to "upgrade" our situation while here. Who are we to disagree. We left Samara yesterday morning and it was the first place that we really spent enough time in (albeit much on the toilet) to really miss when we left. On the plus side, the bulk of our journey was in a private van because no one else was going from where we went to Manuel Antonio. We'll miss Jo-el and his cigarettes and mumbling franish (spanish and french combined); we'll miss Gretel, the cleaning lady and her pleasant greeting every morning; we'll miss the solitude of our little pool at Hotel Marbella; we'll miss the ... read more

jill here typing... WELL. what an adventure....wholly crap!! it began with us signing up for the tour at the lobby...and being told that 2 of the hottest guys at our hotel (bruno and frank---from Paris) were to be our partners!! TRES MARVELOUS!!! we began speaking---them with their french broken accents...about the day ahead of us...and me telling them i was a bit afraid of the speed of the canopy...to which they replied sheepishly..."we will push you!" they then laughed as if it was cute....not so much. they bus picked us up and we traveled up the main drag and loaded the bus with all the gays along the way that had signed up. our tour guide...jose--complete with mohawk and spike piecing thru his under lip---hmm...he was a totally michael libatore twin...odd? michael are you shooting on ... read more

We've missed a few days, so we need to fill you all in. Internet is intermitant so please forgive us if we have to lie in the sun and TAN rather than fill your sad asses in on our travel escapades. After failing to enter the interenet site we traveled the rocks to OUR beach. You have to go early and be very careful as you crawl over the slippery, mounding spikey rock formations to the hidden beach in Manual Antonio. We met our new friends Gorgio and Bertrand from Vancouver BC. Naked and lying in the sun JIll found it hard to stop staring at a certain part of the anatomny but was pleased to see how well "groomed they were". We compared tats and took pics The three of them lined up G&B showing ... read more

We woke to roosters, howling white face monkeys...and, the sweet sound of construction next door...all at the bewitching hour of 6am. We got up early as we had to eat and catch the tico bus to Manual Antonio Natural Park...as we wanted to get there early and hike the trails to experience the park at its liviest. We "hired" a guide for a private tour...just the 4 of us...nick named "skinny" or "flacko"....I(jill typing now) kept making a folding motion with my hands as if i were going to fold flako up and stick him in my pocket to take him home...as he was jimmy's type---a souvienor of sorts. He carried a telescope and pointed out all sorts of things the naked eye would never see...sleeping bats, sleeping hawk, a 2 toed sloth, many white faced ... read more

Came back to the gift shop to finish our entries for you guys. Hope you like them....they cost 1000 colones for every half hour! Ok, so back to Tues nite and dinner. So we ate at this place...a local establishment..."Angles", which was situated on the main drag here in town....and in the back yard were the nino's playing, and with the eldest in the kitchen cooking(she was all of 14). Presumably the father was our waiter who spoke VERY little english....THANK GOD for peter! He is truly amazing with his language skills. We were one of 3 tables being served...the first were two fishermen and their costa rican guide, there was us and then, there was this odd man that walked in and first spoke spanish to the father...then, made a phone call on his cell ... read more

Well we've finally pack and arrived. Muchos stories of all the people we have met on the beach. Jill has never seen so much male anotomy before on the nude beach. Learing is good. \ We arrived Saturday after a 14 hour travel day. the flight down was easy and yes everything fit in the overhead compartment. Sensa Air seated 14 people and our girl jill did just fine with her eyes closed and not paying any attetion to the blinding clouds the the pilots who seemed more intent on doing the log work than actually flying the friggin' tin can we were in a la Patsy Cline. We arrived at our lovely hotel Villa Rocca and had a wonderful dinner and then proceeded to flop into bed. olah all....i have taken over the duties of ... read more

Manuel Antonio is a small national park on the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Its slogan (well the one we were given by our hotel) is "still more monkeys than people" - which was quite true (although I must admit that there were times when it was hard to tell the difference).....
