Bonjour.

Hi Everyone, We did make away from Kingston on the 16th as planned, we did not cross that night. We instead crossed in the morning. Those of you who have received my email already know it was not the most pleasant crossing ever, not the worst either. As it turned out we choose the correct day. The next day would have been truly horrible and perhaps dangerous to enter Oswego. Two coast guard vessels were outside the entrance to render assistance, and to turn fishermen back into the harbour. Today all the sails are off, the booms are down and the cabin top is being re-arranged to accept all of the booms etc.. Some kind gentlemen returning have given us a couple of charts we were missing. The marina will unstep the masts on Monday. I ... read more

i had to make another entry to put more pics on the site. but we went out today to get some dinner for tonight and we came back with an ocean trigger fish and a few more conch! and spearin fish is so cool. i was using the hawaiian sling today and its pretty much like a sling shot. you pull the spear back in the sling and aim at the fish and hope you get it. it took me one shot and it went right through. just like i knew what i was doing! then the fish jumps around alittle bit, tries to swim away but just falls staight to the bottom of the ocean. not too many fish can swim with a 5ft steel pole sticking right through them! oh and i wanted to ... read more

Alright everyone so we figured out how to spear our dinners. We went out and bought a pole spear and a hawaiian sling. Brendan yesterday went to test all the new gear out. His first mission out he came back with a big lobster and a grouper. it was a good catch but i was hungry and we were having laura over for dinner. so i sent him back out. he came back with a big 15 pound greater amberjack and another grouper! i was impressed!! he speared them all with the pole spear! we had enough food for our dinner party. he cleaned them all up, he still needs some practice, but got everything done and then i started cookin. theres nothing like fresh cought and cooked fish and lobster. its another day and im ... read more

hey everyone, we are in green turtle cay! we have been here for a little while now, snorkleing everyday, fishing, and meeting all kinds of great people! there was a big party last night at the club. the best band in the bahamas was playing. they all had a few drinks so i dont know if they were the best last night but they were pretty good still. captain brendan had a few too many too early so the first mate trevor sent him back to the boat to get something to eat and hopefully drink some water too, he got out to the boat, made some pasta i guess and passed right out.. so he pretty much left me high and dry on land while he was having a nice sleep on my bed back ... read more

Or: (sing it)" It's Better in the Bahamas". In preparation for my future around the world flight I thought; 'Start small Tom; a nice easy trip to the Bahamas'. Learn how to fly 'international'. Apparantly US Customs doesn't care if you leave America. Flying out of the US turned out to be very easy. Get in your plane and go. No flight plan. no clearance. Josian and I had our passports, money, full tanks and two safety yellow life jackets. Beautiful day. No problem getiing to and finding Marsh Habour(MYAM) airport. About an hour and twenty minutes. Huh? The runway (27) looks really nice but as we got to about 200 feet I noticed an X next to the runway numbers. You can't land on those. So I did a nifty little 'jog' to the ... read more

Who knew that such a wonderful treasure was hidden right here on earth! I had never heard of Abaco prior to coming to the Bahamas and I am pleasantly surprised and awestruck at the natural beauty of this island. The Abaconian Rotarians showed us a wonderful time in Marsh Harbour and took us on mini adventures to Treasure Cay (pronounced "Key"), Green Turtle Cay and Elbow Cay/Hope Town. The photos speak for themselves so I've attached several so that you can see what we have been blessed to experience firsthand. ... read more
