Its been a couple of months since I have gotten home and even blogged about my experience.. After I got back from Greece I started my internship at Ramah Israel Programs and I had a blast. I did basic intern things like file, input things on the computer as well as photo copy. I had it down to a science. My normal hours were 10-6 sometimes 11-7 or earlier. There were only 9 of us at one time living in Jerusalem so the Otzmanikm got very close and I loved that. I was the only female from B7 so that I made new friends and I will never forget my time in Jerusalem with everyone. I ended up meeting someone and had a blast with them the last month or so of Israel with them. We ... read more

We wake up early again, our last day trip is to Lindos which has a population of 1091. It is known for its 17th century houses which are dazzling white as well as white and black pebble mosaics. It was established in 2000 BC and is the home to the acropolis. We are down stairs waiting of course because Israelis are always late; we start driving and the entire tour is in hebrew. TX and I start laughing to ourselves because we do not know weather to cry or laugh. We were driving towards Lindos and we make a stop we do a mini hike like Pekiin, got to a fresh water tunnel and I looked forward and into it and all I saw was a dark cllostraphobic. I did the rest of the hike which ... read more

So today we worke up at 6:45 am, to have a little day trip to the Island of Symi we had to be at the Port at 9am leaving the hotel by 8:30. This is what Symi is about. Its an Island of a population of 2606 and just a day trip away from Rhodes, its a rocky and very picturesque island. Ship building and sponge diving are the main economies of the Island. Sponge diving started in the Ottoman times. Whilte on our way to Symi I had a radical amazement moment. It was when I was looking out to the water and it was clear, turquoise and this deep blue nothing like I have ever seen before. It was unbelievable. We made two stops in Symi, the first one was to Moni Taxiarnou Mihail ... read more

Last day in Larnaca and I have to say I am not so sad of saying goodbye. It was an awesome exotic vacation however I think I would love to come back and do Aynapa and Pafos with dad and mom or someone who can drive/ husband or whatever. It was a rainy day waking up not looking forward to possibly getting soaked, we made our way to the bus stop to go down town and the driver looked at me like I was absolutely insane we sat on the promenade had hot coco to die for. Our waiter was adorable never met Americans before and was so fascinated that we made it to Cyprus. So we knew that the entire country decided to go on siesta in the afternoons but we did not realize that ... read more

We walked north today to get a different feel for larnaca since we have been to town every single day. The northern beaches are where all the resorts are, just wanted to see what we were missing. IT was a hot and windy day and we sat on the beach and enjoyed the oceans blues and greens. We both did not want to be walking in the heat of the day so we got back to the hotel around 1:30 and was ready to go to the pool and chill out, but instead we hung out and took naps. I honestly think that my body doesnt know what to do since I am on vacation, it is a nice feeling. Tomorrow is our last day in Cyprus and I can not wait. We honestly have been ... read more

Venturing into town round two. We decided that we were deff not walking this time. I went to bed dredding that walk thinking I would have to do it again today.. not only once, but twice. So we waited for the bus and noticed that it does not come every 1/2 an hour we were waiting at least 40 min. We got into town in 5 minutes instead of forever it was so much nicer. We went to the promenade since there was going to be traditional Greek dancing and it was pretty cool and then we went to the beach and laid out for hours which then meant of course I got fried like no other. I was wearing my hadaya necklace so I have this little aread on my chest which is not red ... read more

After gregorys we came back to plan the next couple days of our vacation. Tx started to tell me about a couple ideas but I couldnt keep my eyes open I was sleeping by 10;30.. then we got a knock on the door around midnight or so asking for Constance. It was kinda comical in away because the guy was so delirious that he knocked on the wrong door. When we asked what can we do for him he looked at us like he was a deer in headlights. The 4/4 we woke up early because breakfast was only being served until 9:15 and we wanted to attempt the un atemptable.. walk into town. While we were walking we got honked at like a million times its as if they have ever seen a pedestrian. We ... read more

And the adventure begins... the Nesher picked us up around 3am to go to the airport we got through the airport around 430 am everything was smooth our flight was at 7am we landed by 8am it very a very quick flight, we get into a cab to take us to the hotel (we notice automatically that they drive on the other side of the ROAD)!!! We get there to try to check in which is not until 1pm unless you pay 20 euro to get to your room earlier. We did that since both tx and I did not sleep a drop last night and we couldnt function without sleep. We wake up 8 hours later around 6pm starving and ready to get our vacation started. We did not want to go far for dinner ... read more

Today Otzma had buses picking us up from our Partership Cities to go to Jerusalem for orientation. It was J,J,C,G,T who were left to go to Orientation from Rehovot. The bus pulled up and we loaded it extremely quickly and moved on. Our cleaning lady Oshrat came out and waved us goodbye she was so sad to see us go. So cute. Orientation was a lot of people talking at us. We had a speaker come talk to us about the differences of working in a Israeli office vs an American office - atmosphere, code of conduct etc since the cultures are so different. Also now that the group is moving to Tel aviv or Jlem we had a discussion that money is not going to go as far as it did in Beer Sheva or ... read more
