Surprise Party at Alexandra Heads I should have had exciting details from a hot air balloon ride... .... lots of photos of beautiful Brisbane, and lots of hot self portraits of *yours truly* from 1000 ft up!! but alas..... Going up the mountain... well Hill.... hhmmm... Mt Cootha Due to the high number of students we have we like to take them to Mt Cootha to look at the view of Brisbane. As we have a full car due to the 3 kids, we can't always take them. South Brisbane Cemetery Today we got to join in a race around the Cemetery...... Photo clues were compiled previously. We get into teams on the day. Teams try and collect the most answers from the gravestones. Winners announced and then we eat! We were given a page of photos and the instructions to find the headstones and fill in the blanked out information. The point of this all was to teach us about the importance of ancestors (though these weren't necessarily ours) how to collect information from Gravestones and of course to make it fun!! Monkey Magic, Macadamia's, Monopoly, Motor biking and Mulberries. All these M's pretty much sum up our trip to Gympie which was definately filled with lots of R&R... Rest and Recreation! What a wonderful trip! With a hire car - 4WD (our car was in the shop) we set off to visit friends in Gympie to spoil our children for the school holidays.... well we had no other plans or bookings anywhere... so had to do something! Dancing with glowsticks.... Roar of the F1 11... The Fireworks start. Hurray! RiverFire is here! We started off with a BBQ with family to celebrate Fathers Day and to use it as an excuse to get together and watch the fireworks. While we leisurely ate food we watched from our varandah, as car after full car drove by all occupants scanning for empty car spaces. Very sad, the street filled up quickly, making us glad we can fit four cars in our place. Driving, he passes me the letter "Can you open this for me, what is it?" I open, thinking it is registered mail for our business, not thinking anything suspicious at all.... Lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night.. Pitch Black, No moon... I rose at 5am to watch the sunrise at the beach. Children and husband all sleeping soundly, I grab a jacket and slip out. Not a soul around, it is very dark. I am too scared to go down to the beach... who knows who might be out there! So I sat under a light post in the pitch dark waiting for the sunrise. Our Weekend Away at the Sunshine Coast Installment #2 Dicky Beach Family Holiday Park were nice enough to let us in more than 2 hours before our check in time. This enabled us to unpack, make beds, and get swimmers on. With little kids in tow this is awesome. See their website at www.dicky.com.au. The also had free internet access which was good. The rooms were a little smaller than we expected, but otherwise clean and comfortable.
